A timeless love story unfolded as fashion content creator Sana Grover and architect Swadheet Chaturvedi from New Delhi embarked on a journey of love, commitment, and celebration. Their wedding, held at The St. Regis Goa on January 17 and 18 was a seamless blend of elegance, tradition, and sustainability, marking the beginning of their forever. The entire event was captured by Epic Stories, while the glam team comprised Reva Goswami, with The Shaadi Knot, handling the event.
A love that was meant to be
Grover and Chaturvedi's story began in London, a city that shaped both their lives in profound ways. Chaturvedi pursued a Master’s at the prestigious Architectural Association, while Grover completed hers at King’s College London. Though their paths had not yet crossed, the city had already woven itself into the fabric of their love story.
They met through an online dating app, and on their first date, Chaturvedi spoke endlessly about football, leaving Grover unsure about a second meeting. But something urged her to give it another chance. The second date revealed an entirely different side of Chaturvedi—kind, thoughtful, and deeply perceptive. What began as a simple meeting soon became a bond built on warmth, trust, and shared dreams. Over the years, Grover found herself celebrating Chaturvedi's favourite team's victories—proof that love finds its way.
A very thoughtful proposal
When it came to the proposal, Chaturvedi ensured every detail was perfect. Understanding that Grover is an introvert, Chaturvedi crafted an intimate, private moment on a BBQ boat as they sailed along the Thames with Grover’s favourite McChicken burger in hand. To make the occasion even more special, Chaturvedi arranged for a photographer friend to “accidentally” bump into them that morning, capturing the surprise on camera. Before proposing, Chaturvedi had sought blessings from Grover’s grandparents, knowing how much it would mean to her. When Chaturvedi presented the Tiffany ring Grover had once casually mentioned to a friend, Grover knew Chaturvedi had been listening in ways that mattered the most. It was an effortless, deeply personal moment that she would cherish forever.
The wedding in Goa
Their wedding was as intentional as their love. Initially having considered Jaipur and Udaipur, they kept returning to the idea of a beach wedding. Goa, where they had first traveled together with friends, felt like the perfect choice. The warmth of The St. Regis Goa Resort, its stunning beachfront, and the way the property seamlessly blended luxury with nature made it the ideal venue. More than anything, the couple wanted a wedding that reflected their personalities and their relationship—soulful, elegant, and deeply personal.
The pre-wedding festivities
The celebrations unfolded in a way that felt both intimate and grand. Every detail was meticulously planned to reflect their values and love for tradition.
The pre-wedding festivities began with a serene mehendi ceremony, an intimate gathering with close family. Grover had always loved the tradition, and for the wedding, she opted for intricate, full-hand designs—a nod to her childhood love for henna.
The following day, the Haldi took place at the resort’s picturesque riverside venue. Inspired by European garden parties, the setting featured pastel yellow, pink, and blue hues, complete with elegant umbrellas and personalised photo table mats. While the decor had a Bridgerton-inspired charm, the vibrant Indian energy remained intact with dhol, petal showers, and endless dancing.
Grover wore a vibrant white and pink Suhino outfit, paired with her mother’s jadau jewellery, while Chaturvedi sported a tropical-printed Torani kurta set, perfectly complementing the joyful ambience.
Sangeet: A night of dance and music
The sangeet, held on the grand lawns of The St. Regis, was a traditional Indian celebration under the open skies. The setting was magical, with glowing candles, hanging lights, and carpets laid across the lawns. There were no over-the-top stage setups—just the beauty of the coconut trees and the warmth of family and friends.
The evening opened with a surprise choreographed entrance by their friends, setting the tone for an unforgettable night. The groom’s father led a family band performance, making the celebration deeply personal. As the night unfolded, Chaturvedi was overwhelmed with emotion, tearing up at the sight of their families coming together on stage for them.
Grover wore a shimmering silver Seema Gujral mirror-work outfit, paired with diamond jewellery, while Chaturvedi looked dapper in a classic black Dhruv Vaish achkan.
Games day and choora ceremony
The morning of the wedding began with lighthearted games, designed to bring together family and friends in playful competition. The dress code was simple—white T-shirts and jeans. Personalized playing cards featured fun facts about them, and there were childhood-inspired games like tug-of-war and pithu. A sip-and-paint station allowed guests to create their own tote bags, which they later planned to frame into a collective artwork.
During the choora ceremony, Grover wore her mother’s treasured Ritu Kumar suit, accessorised with her great-grandmother’s gold jewellery and a beautifully preserved purple dupatta from her grandmother. It was an emotional moment, filled with memories of loved ones who were no longer with them but still present in spirit.
The wedding—a pastel beachfront dream
The wedding ceremony was an ethereal sunset affair on Cavelossim Beach, set against the backdrop of the waves. Pastel hues dominated the decor, creating a soft, dreamlike setting. Guests were welcomed by a touching display of old wedding photos from their families, accompanied by a note that read, “To everyone who walked before us—remember this feeling?”
A handpan musician played soothing melodies as they exchanged vows, lending a tranquil energy to the moment. During Grover’s bridal entry, set to the achingly beautiful ‘Achutam Keshavam’—a song her mother used to play every morning—Chaturvedi was overcome with emotion, tears streaming down his face. Their first dance as husband and wife was to an instrumental version of ‘Chaar Kadam,’ performed live on a piano—another nod to Grover’s mother’s favorite songs.
Grover wore a pastel pink Sabyasachi lehenga, a childhood dream inspired by years of watching Band Baaja Bride. The moment she tried it on, she knew it was “the one”. It was paired with exquisite Polki jewellery from Amaris. Chaturvedi complemented her perfectly in an ivory Sabyasachi sherwani with subtle gold detailing.
Reception and after parties
The celebrations didn’t end there. The reception, held in Delhi at the Sheraton Hotel, was an elegant affair. Grover chose a classic red Ritu Kumar saree paired with a Hazoorilal gold set, while Chaturvedi opted for a timeless black suit.
The after-parties were as dynamic as the couple themselves. Given Chaturvedi’s love for house music, one evening was dedicated to an electrifying house music party, ensuring the celebrations ended on a high note.
A wedding rooted in meaning
Every detail of their wedding was a purposeful reflection of their love and values. A remembrance table honoured the loved ones they had lost—Grover’s mother, Chaturvedi’s grandparents—ensuring they remained part of the celebrations. Sustainability was at the heart of their wedding, with an emphasis on minimal decor, reusable materials, and a naturally beautiful venue that required little embellishment.
Their wedding was more than just an event—it was a heartfelt, intentional, and beautifully woven tapestry of love, family, and cherished memories—one that will be treasured for years to come.
