In a heartwarming tale of love, Tvisha Gangwani and Saagar Kausheeka tied the knot in a stunning wedding celebration in Mumbai. Gangwani and Kausheeka’s journey took them across iconic cities and culminated in a grand wedding spanning two weeks, two continents, three cities, and eight spectacular events from October 28 to November 7 in 2024.
The couple’s love story began in the unlikeliest of places—their workplace, Microsoft in Seattle. Despite living in iconic cities worldwide, the pair found each other during the pandemic, forging an unbreakable bond. Soon their love took to the Land of the Rising Sun, where Kausheeka proposed at the historic Yasaka Pagoda, in Kyoto, Japan.
As Tvisha shares, “We often joke that we are two halves of the same whole as I had lived in the USA for 6 years, India for 17, while he had lived in India for 6 years and the US for 17! Our thoughts, our choices, and our values all match making this relationship what it is. We love to travel and have travelled to more than 10 countries over the last two years! Each trip only strengthened our bond and made us fall deeper in love.”
Gangwani, a Wharton School of Business alumna, and Kausheeka, a Tamilian raised, Bay Area native, exchanged vows in a traditional Indian ceremony at the St. Regis Mumbai in a beautiful blend of Indian and American cultures. The couple planned the events inclusive of the cultures they are rooted in, starting with Mata Ki Chowki, a homage to Tvisha’s Sindhi roots. The sangeet which was a black tie-themed event brought their Western influences to India. The highlight of the wedding was Tvisha’s solo performance in a custom Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla gown embellished with 8000 Swarovski crystals and an 80-foot skirt synchronised with LED backdrops.
By mixing and matching some of Rahul Mishra’s finest pieces, the couple kicked off their mehendi on October 31. A fun Diwali Party at Bastian-At the Top was then followed by the haldi at Gallops for which Gangwani chose a unique outfit specially designed for her by Unaiza Punjabi.
What made the festivities brighter were the guests playing the tabla to get a glass of champagne. The couple wore custom outfits by Sabyasachi for their pheras at St. Regis that saw Gangwani honour her culture with both a North and South Indian mangalsutra.
The festivities culminated with a grand reception in Chennai, a nod to both Gangwani’s Malayali and Kausheeka’s Tamilian heritage. The event even saw the bride don a stunning Kanchipuram silk saree with real gold zari.
The couple shares, “We’ve lived in so many cities, travelled to more, but have finally found our home in each other. The wedding was like a dream for us, and with different venues, came different experiences, and everything was beautiful and serene.”
