The science behind it
Veteran beauty expert and founder of Blossom Kochhar Aroma Magic, Dr Blossom Kochhar explains, “Onions are rich in dietary Sulfur. Sulfur is found within amino acids, which are components of proteins especially keratin which is good for hair. Onions also help promote collagen production, which boosts production of healthy skin cells and hair growth. Onion juice also helps boost blood circulation and increases the blood supply to hair follicles. It is rich in antioxidants and anti-bacterial properties and keeps the scalp free of infection.”
The best way to apply onion juice to your hair if you can’t stand the smell is to make a hair mask out of it. Dr Blossom recommends these three hair masks, where the stench of the onion gets camouflaged in essential oils.
