BETTER SAFE THAN SORRY

Hygiene comes first, and all else after. 'Most makeup artists are really dirty. So, your first priority should be to find out what their hygiene standards really are,' suggests Jordan. And, if you're all that concerned and don't want to take any chances, why not ask them to use your own makeup products instead? I'm sure you all can take guarantee for your own stuff. It's better safe than sorry, especially if you have a weak immune system and want to avoid being sick right before that honeymoon that you've been planning for months.

WORK DIVERSITY

'Not so much a question, but possibly the most important aspect when it comes to narrowing down on the right makeup artist, is to explore their previous work. 'Can they pull off a range of looks or are they repeating the same thing over and over again?' While it might sound frivolous, it is really important to find out. As stated by makeup mogul Jordan, 'If you ask them for a winged liner and all they do is smokey eyes, you're probably not going to get the best results on the most important day of your life.'

CHOOSE WISELY FOR YOUR SKIN

It is extremely important to ensure that the makeup artist you hire is keeping your skin ailments, concerns, texture and type into mind when curating a look for you. Compromising on using the right products for your skin type can have grave consequences afterwards. Jordan Liberty recommends asking the makeup artist about a personal concern such as 'I have dry skin and how should I handle it.' Later, tune into their response and try to gauge if they are knowledgable in the matter or not. 'Our nervous system is trained to be wary of people that are untrustworthy. So listen to their response carefully, and if they sound confident they are probably the correct one, and if not then you look ahead,' he says.
