Oh the glamour, the outfits, the enchanting atmosphere of love, and of course the drama! Weddings are always a good and fun time. The flowers are lilac, not lavender! A travesty! The groom’s uncle’s friend’s son got drunk and passed out near the pool! The. Dress. Does. Not. Fit. Essentially, situations that are reality-show-worthy. Here is a list of wedding-related reality shows that ensure glitz and glamour with a side of drama. 

Say Yes to the Dress

Do you think finding a man is hard? Try finding the perfect wedding dress! Say Yes to the Dress, one of the most loved wedding-related reality shows follows brides as they try on dress after dress, take in their bridal parties’ critique (which is, of course, more honest than needed, thanks to the champagne) and choose their forever dress. 

The Big Day 

This Netflix show puts Karan Johar’s movie weddings to shame. Extravagant, glamorous, and over-the-top are just a few words to describe the grandeur of weddings in this show. With six episodes, each featuring a different Indian couple, we follow the journey all the way from planning to the final fireworks. 

Married at First Sight 

Immense trust in “experts” is what the participants of this show need. Two complete strangers are put together by experts, but the twist? They meet at the end of the aisle. Post that fateful moment, they have two months to decide if it is a forever kind of thing. 

Marriage or Mortgage 

A house or a wedding? An easy choice for some, but not all. The show follows real estate agent, Nicole Holmes and a wedding planner, Sarah Miller, as they try and convince ten couples to spend their money on one or the other. 

Indian Matchmaking 

This list would be incomplete without mentioning Sima Taparia from Mumbai. A matchmaker with clients worldwide, she strives to find the best match ( after compromising and understanding) for everybody. Filled with horse riding dates, astrologers, fed-up parents, this show is the perfect binge.
