How to host a dreamy, elegant bohemian affair? Take a cue from newlyweds Farhan Akhtar and Shibani Dandekar, whose mehendi ceremony was all about just that. A day after the couple gave us a glimpse into their ring exchange ceremony, the bride has released never-seen-before photographs from the mehendi, which took place at Farhan's Bandstand residence.
On the day, Shibani donned a Payal Singhal co-ord set—in keeping with the boho-inspired theme—pairing it with ethnic silver earrings from Amrapali and fresh flowers in her hair. Her to-be-hubby made an appearance in athleisure, getting S ♡ F henna-tatted on his right arm.
'Two of my best friends, my sisters, my protectors, my lifers, threw me the most incredible mehendi. I felt the love and energy hard in the room that night,' the anchor cum model captioned one of her Instagram posts. Shabana Azmi, Anusha Dandekar, Amrita Arora, Rhea Chakraborty, and designer Payal Singhal were among those in attendance.
While the intimate pre-wedding festivities took place at the actor's Mumbai residence, for additional privacy, the family decided to host the nuptials at Javed Akhtar's Khandala farmhouse. Carrying on her love affair for all things unconventional, on the big day, Shibani threw on a French Chantilly lace gown by JADE, straying away from the been-there-done-that bridal lehengas and saris.
