Inside Farhan Akhtar and Shibani Dandekar's Fairytale Wedding
The longtime couple tied the knot on 19th February at Javed Akhtar's Khandala farmhouse, 'Sukoon'.
And, they seal it with a kiss! Farhan Akhtar and Shibani Dandekar have put a ring on it four years into their relationship. The latest to enter the 'just-married' club, the couple hosted an intimate ceremony at the Akhtar family farmhouse in Khandala, with close friends, film fraternity members, and family, in attendance.
While the hush-hush ring exchange ceremony took place a few days ago, the newlyweds chose to keep the wedding under wraps until today. Taking to Instagram to share a glimpse of the memorable affair, Farhan wrote, 'The celebration, however, is incomplete without sharing some precious moments with you and seeking your blessings as we begin our journey across the skies of time, together.'
From Hrithik Roshan to Farah Khan, Saqib Saleem, Amrita Arora, and Rhea Chakraborty, Bollywood bling was spotted at the affair. Music composer and singer Shankar Mahadevan, too, performed at the glorious occasion, lending his voice to the Dil Chahta Hai title track, which marked Farhan's directorial debut in the industry. Days before the big day at the 'Sukoon' farmhouse, the pre-wedding festivities took place at Farhan Akhtar's Bandstand residence in Mumbai.
Farhan's daughters, Shakya and Akira, and his mother and sister, Zoya Akhtar and Honey Irani, were also seen celebrating the joy and love with their dad on his big day. Shibani, on the other hand, had her entourage of bridesmaids, which included her sister Anusha Dandekar, and was walked down the aisle by her father Shashidhar Dandekar.
The wedding décor featured extravagant floral arrangements, earthy elements, and eye-catching chandeliers. The pair, too, exchanged vows under a gorgeous floral archway. On the day, Shibani donned a JADE by Monica and Karishma creation—a modern corset and skirt with a veil handcrafted from French Chantilly Lace in bridal red. To complement his bride-to-be, Farhan threw on a dapper black suit with a bowtie.
