Brides Today: How do you define ‘love in the time of lockdown’?
Diipa Büller-Khosla: It’s all about cosiness and lots of Netflix and chill! For us, it also means walking the dogs in the forest and biking around the countryside.
BT: What are you and your husband doing to keep the romance alive?
DBK: We are both very competitive and have been enjoying several game nights. I love cooking and he loves
eating, so that’s also a perfect combination. We try to have some date nights at home during which we dress up and get ready like we would for a real night out.
BT: What are some of the skills you’ve picked up over the past few weeks?
DBK: I have learnt a lot of business skills—I have been taking courses and learning about what it takes to run a brand in 2020. I’ve also been brushing up on my Dutch language skills. There’s no better time than now to learn a new language, and learning the language of the country I live in sounded like the best one to
start with.
BT: What’s the first thing you’ll do once the lockdown opens up?
DBK: Host a party for my friends and just hug them all night long.
BT: How should a bride navigate the online space during her wedding?
DBK: I would definitely say post the images after the wedding—don’t stress trying to do it live. Enjoy the moment for yourself, and then a few weeks later, share it with the world. Follow the same timeline of your events while posting the images, so that people seeing them feel like they are watching things as they happened.
BT: What’s the one thing that always works on Instagram?
DBK: Being real and vulnerable. I think the days of just showing ‘the perfect life’ are over.
