When Shefali Sharma and Krish Sheth decided to tie the knot, they envisioned a wedding that felt like them—joyful, soulful, and deeply personal. Captured beautifully by Raabta By Shrey Bhagat, their celebration at Anand Kashi by the Ganges in Rishikesh was a seamless blend of Shefali’s Punjabi traditions and Krish’s Gujarati roots, set against the serene energy of the river.
Their love story began on an overnight train to Goa, a chance meeting that turned into endless conversations and, over time, a strong foundation of shared values, laughter, and mutual respect. During the lockdown, their bond grew deeper, culminating in a breathtaking proposal under the Northern Lights in Iceland, thoughtfully planned by Seth.
What made this wedding stand out was Seth's wholehearted involvement in shaping each detail of the celebrations—a rare and refreshing approach, ensuring that the wedding was as much his vision as Sharma's. Together, they planned every element with intention, ensuring it reflected their personalities and love story.
The celebrations began with a pre-wedding event in Mumbai, followed by an Anand Karaj ceremony by the Ganga, where the couple’s vows felt even more special against the backdrop of flowing water and mountain air. Sharma did her own bridal makeup, bringing her calm and grounded energy into the day, while Seth made a grand, playful entry on a tractor, adding a spontaneous touch that brought smiles to everyone around.
A chooda ceremony and a cocktail night inspired by the Ganga aarti added layers of tradition and contemporary celebration, while the “pyaar da pind” event honoured Sharma's punjabi heritage with warmth and vibrance. During the varmala, a recording of Sharma's sister singing played in the background, creating a deeply emotional moment for the couple.
Post-wedding, the celebrations extended with a serene Ganga aarti, allowing the couple and their guests to fully embrace the spiritual beauty of Rishikesh while reflecting on the days of festivities that had passed.
Together, Sharma and Seth are a perfect balance—she brings stillness and clarity, while he brings high energy and detail. Their wedding, filled with intentional choices, heartfelt gestures, and genuine joy, became not just a celebration of their union but a reflection of their shared values, creativity, and the love that brought them together on a train journey years ago.
