When podcaster and digital creator Prakhar Gupta married fine artist Claudia Robles-Gil, the celebration unfolded like a travelogue of their lives together. Spanning two countries and five days, the wedding blended Indian, Mexican, and Thai influences with an ease that felt deeply personal. From a sun-soaked destination chapter in Phuket to a heartfelt Hindu ceremony in Delhi, every moment reflected who they are, individually and together.
Gupta and Robles-Gil met in New York through mutual friends, and the connection was immediate. Both were navigating creative worlds, and their relationship quickly slipped into a rhythm of travel, overlapping cities, and long conversations that stretched across time zones. When both of them coincidentally landed in Mexico around the same time, their bond deepened and love took its course. There was no elaborate proposal; just a private moment and a ring. Their families later insisted on an engagement celebration, one that the couple embraced for the joy it brought everyone.
Phuket, where three cultures meet by the sea
The wedding celebrations began in Phuket from November 27 to November 29 at JW Marriott, Mai Khao, with 160–180 guests flying in from India, Mexico, the US, Europe, and beyond. The opening boat party was a relaxed, tropical welcome, with island-hopping around the Andaman Sea setting the mood for the days ahead. Robles-Gil wore Waymari, a Colombian sustainable brand, while Gupta chose MORNI.
The Indo-Mexican mehendi was a joyful collision of cultures, where Indian rituals were layered with Mexican colours, flavours, and music. Robles-Gil’s custom Torani sari drew from vibrant Mexican palettes, while Gupta wore Torani, keeping the look simple, yet celebratory. That evening, a Thai sabai-themed sundowner leaned into local island aesthetics before transitioning into a high-energy after party.
An artist’s eye guiding every detail
As an independent fine artist, Robles-Gil approached the wedding as a visual and emotional narrative. Each event had its own colour language, musical curation, and mood, designed to feel intimate and immersive rather than grand for the sake of it. For her haldi ceremony, she donned a custom MORNI outfit inspired by one of her own paintings, with symbolic elements from her work subtly woven into the decor.
Music played an equally central role. DJ Prashant rocked the Phuket celebrations, while the ocean-front vows opened seamlessly into an after-party set by international DJ Paradox.
Vows by the ocean, pheras at home
The vows ceremony on November 29 was deliberately small and emotional, held by the sea as the sun dipped. Robles-Gil wore a custom gown by Pooja Peshoria. Days later, on December 2, the couple had their traditional Hindu wedding in Delhi. The pheras were hosted at Gupta’s childhood home so the family patriarch could attend, grounding the celebration in memory and meaning.
A grand finale in Delhi
The celebrations concluded with a grand reception on December 3 at Tivoli, Chattarpur, welcoming nearly a thousand guests.
Gupta and Robles-Gil’s wedding was less about ticking boxes and more about storytelling. It was a celebration that travelled across oceans, honoured multiple cultures, and stayed true to the couple at its centre.
