When entrepreneur Arpan Soni and lifestyle and fashion creator Isha Parikh first met on Bumble during the COVID-19 lockdown in Udaipur, they did not expect that one random match would eventually turn into a lifelong partnership. Over the next four and a half years, their relationship moved through different phases, including long distance, finding their way back to each other, and eventually building a home together in Gurgaon. Through it all, their connection always felt natural and effortless.
Udaipur remained deeply personal to the couple because it was where everything began. So when Soni decided to propose, he chose the very same cafe overlooking the lake where they had first met. The emotional full circle moment later became the inspiration behind their wedding as well. While Soni initially imagined a small celebration and Parikh always dreamed of a larger, vibrant wedding, they found a balance that reflected both their personalities.
A wedding designed around experiences
The couple celebrated a Hindu wedding on April 26, 2026, followed by a Gurudwara ceremony the next day. Every function was designed to feel warm, interactive, and memorable rather than simply aesthetic. From personalised guest experiences to playful decor elements, each celebration carried its own mood and identity.
Their mehendi embraced colourful Rajasthani influences with vibrant mirror work details and a custom mirror work chadar for their entry. The celebrations continued with a haldi that felt more like a lively lemon garden brunch and pool party. Bright decor, games, giveaway counters, and block printing tote bag stations turned the event into an energetic daytime celebration.
Fashion that reflected their personalities
The cocktail night brought a completely different mood. Wanting outfits that felt glamorous yet comfortable, Parikh wore a maroon and rose gold corset silhouette with slit detailing, while Soni chose a rose gold look inspired by Pinterest references and a Dubai-based designer. The evening quickly transformed into a dance-filled celebration as family and friends joined the couple on the dance floor.
For the wedding ceremony, the couple consciously moved away from conventional ivory palettes and leaned into richer colours and customised styling. Soni’s maroon wedding look stood out for its detailed craftsmanship, while Parikh’s bridal look was elegant with personal touches inspired by multiple Pinterest references.
A rainy baraat
One of the most emotional moments of the celebration was Parikh’s bridal entry. She walked down a floral acrylic aisle with dry ice effects to music from the couple’s favourite Pakistani drama, making the varmala feel deeply personal. Just before the ceremony began, an unexpected summer shower added even more drama to the evening. Soni’s baraat took place in the rain whilst guests worried about the ceremony, but the weather soon softened into a drizzle, leaving behind a cooler, dreamy atmosphere.
The celebrations ended with an afterparty that became one of the happiest moments of the wedding weekend, especially when Soni unexpectedly took over the DJ console and surprised everyone.
For the couple, the most meaningful part of the wedding was how personal every detail felt. From the music to the outfits and decor, every choice reflected the life they had built together.
