A royal romance in Udaipur: Inside Diya Sheth and Dhruv Marwadi’s dreamy, love-filled wedding

Set against the opulence of The Oberoi Udaivilas, Diya and Dhruv’s wedding was a multi-day celebration of heritage, elegance, and a love story years in the making.

In the heart of Rajasthan, where heritage meets luxury, Diya Sheth and Dhruv Marwadi celebrated their union in a spectacular destination wedding that spanned six unforgettable days. Held at The Oberoi Udaivilas in Udaipur—a venue synonymous with timeless grandeur—the wedding was a beautifully choreographed journey through tradition, emotion, and modern-day elegance.

Both hailing from Rajkot, Gujarat, Diya and Dhruv share roots in two of the state’s most influential business families. Dhruv, an alumnus of the University of Warwick, now plays a pivotal role in his family’s ventures—Marwadi Financial Services, Marwadi University, and other enterprises spanning finance and education. Diya, equally accomplished, studied at Imperial College London and now contributes to her family’s real estate and hospitality empire, including Sheth Builders and the iconic Hotel Imperial Palace.

Though their paths diverged geographically—Dhruv moved to Bangalore during his school years while Diya headed to Mumbai for college—their story found its way through a shared WhatsApp group. Thanks to Diya’s sister Devanshi, who initiated a casual introduction, what began as friendly banter soon turned into late-night conversations and an emotional connection. A poetic full-circle moment followed when Dhruv proposed to Diya at Soho House Mumbai—the very place they first met—where they unknowingly ordered the same meal from their first encounter.

From February 8 to 13, 2025, the couple’s wedding unfolded in a series of seven thoughtfully curated events, each designed to reflect their heritage, personalities, and the shared history of their families, who have been friends for over three decades. The result was a celebration that was not just luxurious, but deeply personal.

The festivities commenced with a vibrant mehendi ceremony on February 8, a warm and colourful gathering that set the tone for the days to follow. After a brief pause, events resumed on February 11 with a welcome lunch at Udaivilas, where guests were treated to an atmosphere of calm sophistication before being transported into an enchanting Sufi Night. Set against candlelight and soft melodies, the evening exuded intimacy and spiritual depth.

February 12 brought a trio of back-to-back celebrations: a joyful haldi ceremony, a sunset wedding, and an exhilarating after party. The wedding itself was a visual masterpiece—Diya made a striking bridal entry just as golden sunlight bathed the venue, creating a moment that felt lifted from cinema. The ceremony was heartfelt and immersive, mirroring the authenticity of their love. Later that night, the couple let their hair down with friends and family during a glam-filled after party that went on into the early hours.

On the final day, February 13, guests were roused with a charming and indulgent “rosé wake-up call”, where butlers delivered chilled glasses of rosé to each door to kick off a sunny mimosa brunch. It was a playful, luxurious gesture that perfectly captured the spirit of the wedding. But the most emotional event was yet to come.

The celebrations concluded with an opulent ball party, the kind of affair that echoed old-world romance with a modern twist. Just before the couple renewed their vows in front of loved ones, Dhruv took everyone by surprise by serenading Diya with Die With a Smile. As guests raised glasses and shared stories, the evening took on the tone of a living, breathing love story—told through the voices of those who knew it best.

Each event was crafted with intention, allowing emotion to lead while never compromising on style or sophistication. The planning, conceptualisation, and seamless execution of the celebration were led by Enjay Events, who are known for turning dream weddings into tangible, unforgettable realities.

From a full-circle proposal to a serenade at the ball, Diya and Dhruv’s wedding wasn’t just about luxury—it was about storytelling, sentiment, and the joining of two hearts destined to meet. The couple began the first chapter of their forever in the regal city of Udaipur, surrounded by family, tradition, and unfiltered joy.
