Gigi Hadid Surpassed All Her Met Gala Looks This Year With Versace

With the theme being 'Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and Catholic Imagination', Gigi Hadid was a vision to behold at the Met Gala 2018.

Last year she dyed her hair brunette and wrapped herself in the caramel colour from head to toe. The year before that, she and her then-boyfriend Zayn Malik channelled the perfect cyborg couple, while in 2015, she was a sight to behold, dressed in red on the seemingly daunting Met Gala red carpet. Naturally, we couldn't help but wait with bated breath to see what she had in store for us this year, as she paid homage to the theme of 'Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and Catholic Imagination'.

Her outfits have always been jaw-dropping and a topic of discussion amongst critics and fans alike and we can't help but notice that her looks have been on an upward curve if mapped on the graph of jaw-dropping-worthiness. Take a look below and decide for yourself, will ya?

Heavily criticised for playing too safe, we wondered if her first red carpet appearance at the Met could have been a tad more audacious. Her romantic, rose-embellished dress was designed by Diane von Furstenberg and she matched the thigh high-split with scrappy, scarlet pointed toe pumps.

2016 was the year her fans couldn't get enough of the cutesy moments shared between her and then-boyfriend Zayn Malik as they walked the carpet as the perfect cyborg couple. Themed as 'Manus x Machina', the Met Gala 2016 was focussed on highlighting the use of technology to propel fashion forward. Tommy Hilfiger designed her outfit for the year and it was the perfect space-age chic the social media star needed.

She went solo last year on the Met Gala red carpet. To match her Tommy Hilfiger, asymmetrical, nude dress, she dyed her blonde hair brown taking monochromatic dressing to a whole new level. Elsewhere, the only pop of colour was black as seen on her cat-eyed lids, which echoed her sleek stilettos and thigh high stockings.

This year, Gigi wore Versace with Donatella Versace herself choosing her outfit for her. The dress is reminiscent of a stained glass window, with sheer, glittering fabric. She paired her museum-worthy gown with simple black heels and statement diamond earrings. Her hair was parted in the middle with a voluminous back stuck in place with hairpins right above her ears. This is her most audacious look till date on the Met Gala red carpet and we can't help but marvel at how wonderfully she has paid homage to the theme this year. See some more pictures of her from the Met Gala this year, as one seems to not be enough!

Since the beginning of her Met Gala tenure, Gigi's looks have gotten more and more thematic and we can only wait and see what she has in store for us next year!
