Our favourite Karwa Chauth looks ft. Bollywood

It’s that time of the year when the Bollywood wives deck up in their traditional best and observe Karwa Chauth for the longevity of their husbands. A celebration of the profound bond between a husband and wife, the festival also gives couples a chance to share a sneak peek of their personal life and relationships on social media.

Over the past two days, we've witnessed Priyanka Chopra, Katrina Kaif, Sonam Kapoor, Rakul Preet Singh, and several other Bollywood actresses share photos of their Karwa Chauth 2024 celebrations. And here are some of our favourite looks! 

Katrina Kaif

Kaif looked radiant in a pink and golden sari, which she paired with gold and polki jewellery. She shared a series of photos on her Instagram that included ones of her and Vicky Kaushal’s mother, a beautiful solo picture, and some adorable family shots with Kaushal and his parents, including one with Sunny Kaushal and her sister, Isabelle Kaif. 

Priyanka Chopra 

The ‘Desi Girl’ shared images of her celebration with Nick Jonas where she can be seen dressed in a maroon tracksuit. Chopra paired the outfit with a red dupatta, bangles and sindoor, blending elegance with comfort. “To all those celebrating.. happy karwa chauth and yes I’m filmy,” the actor captioned her Instagram post.

Sonam Kapoor

Sonam Kapoor wore a custom green anarkali suit set from designer Punit Balana's Couture Capsule for her mom's Karwa Chauth celebrations. The pale green silk kalidar anarkali featured gold marodi, patchwork embroidery, and sequin embellishments and was paired with matching accessories, including bangles, gold chandbalis, a green potli bag, and skin jewellery by Surmeyi. Kapoor opted for a bold make-up look with kohl-lined eyes, shimmering eye shadow, and mauve lips. Her hands had Anand and her son’s Vayu’s name on it. 

Sonakshi Sinha

Sinha looked regal in red as she celebrated her first Karwa Chauth with her husband Zaheer Iqbal. The actor wore a red silk sari featuring sequin embellishments along with a matching red blouse. She opted for a soft bronze make-up look and added a Bvlgari mangalsutra, red bindi, and sindoor to complete her look. 

Rakul Preet Singh

Another Bollywood actor celebrating her first Karwa Chauth, Rakul Preet Singh and Jackky Bhagnani twinned in red ensembles. Singh wore an golden and red embroidered suit, while Bhagnani opted for a red floral printed kurta. The actor shared photos of her celebration with the caption, “My sun, moon, universe, my everything... happy Karwa Chauth from us to you.” 

Kriti Kharbanda

Kharbanda celebrated her first Karwa Chauth with her husband Pulkit Samrat. She looked stunning in a golden tissue sari with a striking golden border while Samrat wore a beige kurta. She took to Instagram to share her excitement, about celebrating the occasion, “Celebrating the 1st of every festival in the first year of marriage has been a tradition in every family for as long as I can remember. Karwa Chauth being one of them. Every Karwa Chauth, I would sit behind my mother, watch her perform the aarti, look at Chanda mama and then at papa from across the channi, dress up and apply mehendi. I’d also wake up for the sargi. I found it fascinating! All that while thinking to myself, I want this. For me. So today, I tick one more thing off my bucket list. The 10 year old me is shy and blushing! He’s good looking also, now that’s the cherry on top!”

Shilpa Shetty

Shilpa Shetty’s fashion game never fails to impress and her outfit at Sunita Kapoor's house for the Karwa Chauth celebrations was no different. The diva looked beautiful in a deep red lehenga, which she paired with a matching skirt featuring floral motifs. She accessorised her look with a matching dupatta, a statement red choker, and bangles, finishing the look with soft, natural make-up. 

Mira Rajput

Rajput looked elegant in a red saree featuring a mirror-work border and a matching sleeveless blouse. She added a yellow potli bag with similar embroidery, beaded earrings, and a diamond bracelet, adding a touch of glam to the look. Her soft glam make-up look and blown-out hair complemented her outfit perfectly! 

The Bollywood Wives from Netflix

The new season of Netflix's The Bollywood Wives released a few days ago and safe to say, it is the talk of the town! While the show featured a Karwa Chauth episode, the Bollywood wives, Maheep Kapoor, Bhavana Panday, and Neelam Kothari celebrated the festival again at Sunita Kapoor's house in style. Maheep Kapoor wore a plain pink saree with a matching blouse and green choker. Panday wore a purple Anarkali suit set that featured golden embroidery all over. And Kothari was seen wearing a pink salwar suit with silver and pink floral embroidery all over along with matching pants and a golden necklace. Talk about glamour! 

Parineeti Chopra

Celebrating her second Karwa Chauth, Parineeti Chopra gave fans a peek into her family celebrations in New Delhi. She is seen wearing a bright pink sharara set with golden embroidery, paired with matching earrings, while her husband Raghav Chadha wore a grey kurta set. Sharing the photos on her Instagram, Parineeti wrote, "My moon and my stars... Happy Karwa Chauth, love of my life! @raghavchadha88."
