On the debut episode of Krasinski’s YouTube series, Some Good News, where Steve Carell and he had reunited, John had expressed his desire to reconnect with the rest of The Office cast, someday. Well, I guess that day finally arrived, last Sunday!
Drawing inspiration from Jim Halpert’s (John Krasinski) proposal to Pam Beesly (Jenna Fischer) on the American ‘mockumentary sitcom’, Krasinski surprise-officiated fans John Lush and Susan Hedrik’s online wedding ceremony in the presence of their loved ones. While Fischer played the role of a celebrity bridesmaid, Singer Zac Brown performed an original song for Hedrik as she was walked down the aisle by her father. Finally, Krasinski who was ordained as a minister carried out the virtual wedding ceremony via video conference with the entire cast in attendance. (Fun fact: John’s proposal to Susan was majorly inspired by Jim’s proposal to Pam in The Office, right outside a gas station store).
Post the brief wedding ceremony, Krasinski announced a bigger surprise - an Office cast reunion dance party to commemorate the newlyweds! Krasinski’s family (of course the Office cast) put on a show to entertain the couple, as they danced on Chris Brown’s song ‘Forever,’ symbolizing the episode in which Jim and Pam are finally wed! Co-stars including Carell, Mindy Kaling, Ed Helms, Rainn Wilson, Ellie Kemper, Angela Kinsey, and BJ Novak all joined in for the occasion.
Despite having been 7 long years since the show’s conclusion, the cast of The Office sticks close, spreading smiles to one and all. Signing off, Krasinski said it would be the 'first and only SGN wedding. Because let's be honest, how does it get better than that? It does not.'
