The Gold actor is now a Mrs—as she wed her best friend and the love of her life, Suraj Nambiar, in an intimate Malyali ceremony at the Hilton Resort in Goa. Yesterday, pictures and videos from the pre-wedding festivities took the internet by storm, and today, the couple tied the knot, following South Indian rituals, a nod to the groom's cultural roots.
For the Mehendi ceremony, Mouni donned a yellow lehenga set featuring tassel and cowrie shell work by designer Payal Singhal. She accessorised her look with a matha tikka and jhumka earrings. To complement his bride-to-be, Suraj wore an ivory-hued kurta-pyjama set with a delicately embroidered Nehru jacket.
Mandira Bedi, who was a guest at the intimate affair, shared a sneak peek via her Instagram.
For the Haldi ceremony, the star wore a pristine white lehenga with chikankari work and a thick gilded border, reportedly a Sabyasachi creation. Suraj, too, wore a simple white kurta-pyjama. Flower jewellery brought Mouni's elegant look together. Here's a look inside the close-knit ceremony:
On the big day, Mouni donned a white South Indian-style sari with a bridal red and gold border. She completed her traditional look with gold temple jewellery from Anmol Jewellers, including a mathapatti, earrings, layered necklaces, bangles, a kamarbandh, and gajra flowers circling her bridal braid. Her fiancé, Suraj Nambiar, wore a traditional South Indian dhoti kurta.
"I found him at last ♥️ Hand in hand, blessed by family & friends, we're married," the newlywed wrote in an Instagram post.
The actor was escorted by her bride squad to the mandap—with the bridesmaids in matching ivory and gold ensembles, holding candlelights. Personalities including Mandira Bedi, Aashka Goradia, Arjun Bijlani, and Manmeet Singh were among the guests invited to the celebrity wedding.
After doing things the 'Malayali' way—a nod to her husband's cultural roots—Mouni got married the Bengali way, performing traditional rites and rituals, ones that she's grown up seeing. For the evening ceremony, she donned a Sabyasachi bridal red creation, accessorising her look with a mathapatti, a nath, layered neckpieces, jhumka earrings, and bangles.
To complement his bride, Suraj wore a creamy, peach-hued sherwani by Sabyasachi, along with a safa and a stole, and a layered pearl necklace.
Congratulations to the couple who embark on this exciting journey of matrimony!
