As destiny would have it, actor Maanvi Gagroo's and comedian-actor Kumar Varun's paths crossed at a work meeting. Years later, the couple made it official in an intimate ceremony among close friends and family. Here's a capsule of how the loved-up duo pulled off their intimate wedding.
How They Met
Maanvi first caught Varun's eye during his quiz show, Kvizzing. "I had participated in Varun's show quite a few times and I was a huge fan of what he did. And then one day, we began chatting." shares Maanvi. The rest is history, because soon, Maanvi and Varun's friendship was forged and later they began dating.
The Next Step
Varun proposed to Maanvi while they were vacationing in London. "We were at a bookstore when he popped the question," shares Maanvi. He orchestrated a splendid performance by recreating their favourite movie scene and eventually going down on one knee before the love of his life. "We both love bookstores and I had no idea...It was just too special", she says.
Leading Up to the Big Day
"There were no doubts regarding what I wanted to wear. However, I had no clue how the multiple events would lead up to the main day," Maanvi recalls. "Since Varun and I wanted an intimate affair, we didn't want a planner to get involved." In retrospect, this decision turned out to be the best for the couple as they were thoroughly invested in the details of every occasion. "From curating the food menu and the playlists, and even finalising the date... Varun and I were a part of every step."
Memories That Will Last a Lifetime
The couple tied the knot on February 23, 2023 in a close-knit, court marriage, in the presence of their loved ones. "I mean it when I say that every function, every moment, felt like a dream I was living in," Maanvi shares. For the couple, the functions and ritual were a reflection of their love and beliefs. "We skipped anything that didn't align with our ideologies," Maanvi adds.
My Advice
"From my humble experience, all I can share is that one needs to understand that you will not be in control of the situations at hand. Be open to choices and try going with the flow. Most importantly, as long as you and your partner connect with each other and communicate openly, trust that everything will eventually fall into place. Enjoy the ride, the highs, and the lows...Because that is what makes the memories truly special," recommends the bride.
