Real Weddings: 11 Wedding Ceremonies to Celebrate Their Happily Ever After

It was truly a match made in opulent sartorial heaven when Pratish Shah, the man behind designer wear brand House of Hind and Dhvani, the founder of costume jewellery brand Avante, tied the knot.  Their wedding festivities were a reflection of their creative sensibilities with a plethora of colours, art, music and culture. Their avant-garde wedding took place in January and was spread over 11 ceremonies at JW Marriott in Pune and Brightland Resort and Spa in Mahabaleshwar. The couple was introduced to each other through their families but came closer due to their entrepreneurial zest and chose the hashtag #RandomButBeautiful for their nuptials. Pratish and Dhvani kicked off their matrimonial events in Pune with a ring ceremony, followed by an afterparty with DJ Nawed and Abhishek Ahir. Next up was a Mehendi function that had Bindu Chetan singing some Gujarati tunes. The groom’s Mehendi event was later that week at Little Italy in Pune, where Pratish made a grand entry on a segway, accompanied by dholwalas and later DJ Piyush Mehta!  The wedding festivities continued at Mahabaleshwar, where the Sanam Puri Band rocked the stage in the evening, only to be continued by Jamin from Pune, who left the guests dancing all night long. The baraat took off early the next morning, with the groom’s guests adorning colourful safas while Pratish made a royal entry in a vintage car. Gurdeep Mehendi was the star of the baraat in getting everyone to groove to Punjabi beats, after which lovebirds sealed their forever love with pheras, while Swapnil Mistry and band eased the evening away. The festivities came to a blissful conclusion with a poolside reception with floral archways and chandeliers, creating the perfect mood for heartwarming toasts delivered by the parents of the couple at the event.
