Mark your milestone with these exquisite symbols of love from Tanishq’s Soulmate Diamond Pair

In an exclusive with Brides Today, Pelki Tshering, CMO Tanishq, Titan Company Ltd discusses the inspiration behind the new launch, what sets it apart, and more.

Diamonds have long symbolised eternal love, strength, and commitment. Today, couples seek meaningful designs that reflect their unique bond and personal journey together. With the romance of February in the air, Tanishq celebrates timeless love with its new Soulmate Diamond Pair Rings. This gorgeous collection features rings carved from a single natural diamond—symbolic of two souls united as one. Crafted from billion-year-old diamonds, each pair reflects everlasting commitment, making them perfect for engagements, anniversaries, and cherished milestones.

In an exclusive interview, Brides Today speaks to Pelki Tshering, CMO Tanishq, Titan Company Ltd about the inspiration behind the concept, how it is tailor-made for younger audiences, and more.

Brides Today: The Tanishq’s ‘Soulmate Diamond Pair Rings’ are crafted from a single rough natural diamond, symbolising unity and shared destiny. What inspired this concept, and how does it reflect the modern evolution of love and commitment?

Pelki Tshering: The inspiration lies within the story itself—it’s not something we crafted from thin air. The Tanishq Soulmate Diamond Pair is rooted in a powerful truth: these aren’t just any diamonds, but two solitaires carved from a single rough diamond formed billions of years ago. That’s why we emphasise that these rings aren’t just about beauty—they carry a history that began long before us. They symbolise a love that is both timeless and destined. More than a celebration or a promise for the future, these rings represent a love that deepens and grows stronger with every moment—a reflection of two souls meant to be together, just like the diamonds that journeyed and evolved side by side over billions of years.

BT: Tanishq has always led the way with innovation. With this concept-driven design, how does the Soulmate Diamond Pair exemplify this approach, and what makes it stand out in the natural diamond jewellery space?

PT: At Tanishq, exceptional design and craftsmanship are born from deep, meaningful inspiration. But for us, true innovation goes beyond design—it must be an industry first, something uniquely ours. We achieved this with Celeste, introducing diamonds cut with a groundbreaking nano-faceting technology. By adding countless micro-facets, we enhanced the diamond’s brilliance beyond that of any classic natural diamond.

Similarly, the Soulmate Diamond Pair represents another industry-first innovation. Natural diamonds are rare, precious, and among the oldest treasures one can hold. But these are more than just diamonds—they are two solitaires, meticulously crafted from a single rough diamond formed over billions of years. Their journey, from one stone into two rings, mirrors the bond between two soulmates: unique, eternal, and destined to be together.

BT: The idea that these rings are carved from billion-year-old natural diamonds adds an extraordinary layer of meaning. How do you think this connection to nature’s toughest element makes these rings even more special?

PT: We’ve launched the collection around Valentine’s Day. People are getting engaged, married, renewing their vows, or using them as commitment rings. The Soulmate Diamond Pair, by pure virtue of the origin story of the two diamonds that made the two rings unique, reflects that. Both of them have a single origin. They are a serendipitous gift of nature. They were formed billions of years ago, and it’s not that every rough diamond reaches us. Those that reach the surface are what we can really mine and bring home so that they can be cut to sparkle the way they do.

As natural diamond resources become scarcer, the NDC Council has predicted that mining will no longer be accessible by 2030, making these diamonds even rarer. This makes the two diamonds in our Soulmate collection even more significant—they are a true testament to the rarity and beauty of nature’s design. The connection between the two, born from one single rough diamond, elevates their symbolism of unity and enduring love, perfectly mirroring the essence of this collection.

BT: Natural diamonds are increasingly becoming a part of everyday jewellery rather than just occasion wear. What are some key trends you’re seeing among young buyers when it comes to styling diamonds for daily wear?

PT: Today, natural diamonds have evolved into an accessible luxury and a powerful style statement—an expression of individuality, growth, and personal style. Among younger buyers, especially Gen Z and millennials, diamonds are becoming a part of their everyday wardrobe, including at work, where they reflect identity and self-expression.

One key trend we’re seeing is stacking—whether it’s earrings, bracelets, bangles, or rings, layering pieces is a popular way to create a unique, personal look. Another notable shift is in weddings, where diamonds are making their mark beyond smaller ceremonies, becoming a meaningful part of core rituals like the pheras. Once dominated by gold, weddings are now a canvas for self-expression, with diamonds emerging as a symbol of individuality and modern elegance.

BT: With evolving consumer preferences, there is a growing shift towards natural diamonds that are versatile and suited for everyday wear. How does Tanishq’s Soulmate Diamond Pair align with this trend, and how do you see modern couples redefining traditional jewellery choices?

PT: Jewellery is more than adornment—it’s a feeling, an emotion, and a lasting symbol of cherished memories. Every piece marks a moment, a milestone, or a story worth remembering. With the Soulmate Diamond Pair,  the story is as meaningful as the design itself. Crafted from a single natural diamond, these rings symbolise the rare, enduring bond between two souls—a perfect reflection of modern couples who value authenticity, connection, and timeless romance. In redefining tradition, today’s couples seek jewellery that not only complements their everyday style but also carries a deeper, personal narrative—one that, like their love, grows stronger with time.
