When a love story begins with flirty Snapchat exchanges and culminates in a mountain-top proposal in Zermatt, you know the wedding is going to be nothing short of cinematic! For Nikita Agarwal and Rishi Khanna, Mykonos felt like the only place expansive enough to hold their energy, history, and the vibrant, playful dynamic that defines them. Perched atop the cliffs of the Royal Myconian Resort, their four-day celebration unfolded like a beautifully choreographed film. Sunlit, emotional, and undeniably grand.
Agarwal and Khanna met in 2015 at college, where he was a senior, and she was a self-proclaimed loud, extroverted sophomore. Agarwal made the first move, and that spark turned into something more in 2016, followed by a year of campus dating, two years of long-distance, and finally, a shared life in New York, filled with weekend adventures, a buzzing friend circle, and a steady, evolving partnership.
In February 2024, Khanna planned a proposal that could have been lifted from a travel romance. What Agarwal assumed would be a simple breakfast on a ski trip turned into a helicopter ride around the Matterhorn, culminating in a surprise proposal on a snowy mountain. It was dramatic, breathtaking, and perfectly them.
The celebrations begin

On September 25, the festivities opened with a Greek white party at Camares Restaurant. Guests arrived in breezy all-white ensembles, soaking in the Mediterranean sunset as live Greek musicians set the tempo for the evening. Traditional Opa-style plate smashing delighted the crowd, while sea-facing tables and an island breeze created a dreamy atmosphere. By nightfall, the group was dancing beneath a sky full of stars, an early preview of the joy that lay ahead.

The next afternoon, the Horizon Balcony hosted a relaxed and colourful mehendi ceremony. Guests lounged against bright florals and soft coastal pastels. Local food, lively music, and sweeping Mykonos views made it a joyful afternoon.

As dusk settled, the celebrations shifted to the Ambrosia Terrace for the sangeet. The space transformed into a twinkling dreamscape—fairy lights arched into a luminous canopy, and a custom projection of the couple’s initials lit up the Mykonos mountains behind the stage. The night unfurled in a series of lovingly choreographed performances by friends and family, punctuated by laughter, tears, and the kind of dancing that only happens when the vibe is right.
Sunlit rituals and sunset vows

September 27 opened with a breezy haldi ceremony back at the Horizon Balcony. Soft marigold tones, natural textures, and the bright Mykonos sun created a warm and intimate setting.

Later in the afternoon, the baraat danced through the picturesque pathways of the resort. Friends and family danced along to upbeat island rhythms, merging Indian celebratory spirit with Mediterranean ease. The wedding ceremony took place at the Sunset Terrace, arguably the most magical moment of the weekend. Set against sweeping vistas of the Aegean Sea, the mandap overlooked a horizon painted in gold. As the sun dipped lower, Agarwal and Khanna exchanged vows in a scene that felt emotional and overwhelmingly beautiful.
An elegant finale

A golden-hued cocktail hour followed the nuptials, where champagne glasses glimmered in the last rays of daylight and guests shared soft, joyful conversations. The night concluded in a candlelit set-up, draped in elegant florals. Heartfelt speeches filled the room, giving way to a night of dancing that carried the celebration into the early hours.
Blending Greek island romance with Indian tradition, Agarwal and Khanna's wedding was more than an event; it was an experience stitched together by love, light, and a setting that felt almost celestial.
