Heritage met high fashion at Samiksha and Karan's pre-wedding shoot at Samode Palace

The regal backdrop of Jaipur blended striking couture, architectural sensibilities, and a love story that began in London.

Every pre-wedding shoot is unique. For Samiksha Gwalani and Karan Kapoor, it was about creating images that felt cinematic, intentional, and worthy of a luxury fashion editorial.

Having met through mutual friends in London, the entrepreneurial couple built their relationship on shared values, ambition, and a deep appreciation for family. When it came time to document this chapter before their wedding, they returned to Jaipur, a city woven into their love story, for an editorial-inspired shoot at the magnificent Samode Palace.

Rather than embracing a traditional romantic aesthetic, Samiksha and Karan envisioned photographs defined by symmetry, striking composition, and timeless elegance. Inspired by high-fashion editorials and architectural photography, they collaborated closely with their photographer to create imagery that celebrated both the grandeur of the palace and the artistry of their ensembles.

Fashion was central to the narrative. Samiksha moved seamlessly between a romantic pink lehenga by Gazal Gupta Couture, a dramatic black Torani lehenga, and a sleek black Helsa Studio gown, while Karan complemented each look in impeccably tailored Raghavendra Rathore bandhgalas and a classic Armani suit. Together, their wardrobe choices struck the perfect balance between bold sophistication and enduring style.

The choice of Samode Palace was deeply personal. Jaipur has always been close to Samiksha's heart, thanks to countless summers spent with her grandparents in the city.

As a couple, the Pink City became even more significant—it was where Karan proposed, and where they once imagined celebrating their wedding before eventually deciding on London. Returning for their pre-wedding shoot felt like a full-circle moment, allowing them to revisit a place that had quietly witnessed some of their happiest memories together.

Beyond its emotional significance, Samode Palace offered everything the couple had envisioned. Its intricate frescoes, ornate courtyards, and timeless architecture became more than just a beautiful backdrop, they elevated every frame, creating portraits that felt regal yet intimate.

Whilst the fashion and setting were undeniably captivating, the couple wanted the images to tell a deeper story. Karan's calm, grounded nature perfectly complements Samiksha's creativity and eye for detail, creating a partnership built on balance, mutual respect, and shared ambition. As entrepreneurs, they wanted the photographs to reflect not only their love but also their individuality and the confidence with which they are building a future together.

The result is a pre-wedding shoot that feels refreshingly modern. Equal parts fashion editorial and heartfelt love story, Samiksha and Karan's portraits prove that the most memorable pre-wedding photographs are the ones rooted in authenticity. Against the timeless beauty of Samode Palace, they captured not just beautiful images, but a reflection of the life, dreams, and partnership they continue to build together.
