A celebration of love and heritage at Sidd and Naiya’s Rajkot wedding


When Sidd and Naiya set out to plan their wedding, they wanted a celebration that felt timeless yet personal, rooted in heritage while embracing modern elegance. What followed was a three-day affair at Rajkot’s Regency Lagoon Resort, where lush gardens and grand interiors became the setting for a wedding as soulful as it was stylish. The love story

Sidd and Naiya’s story began in Boston during the holiday season. What started as a conversation about their beloved dogs, Arthur and Luckie, grew into a bond enriched with shared passions for travel, food, and culture. Over the next two years, the couple navigated time zones, planned adventures, and built a relationship defined by curiosity and intention. When Sidd proposed on a winter afternoon at Boston’s Seaport, their journey came full circle, and the couple decided to return to Rajkot to honour their heritage with a wedding steeped in authenticity and artistry.

The venue

Regency Lagoon Resort provided the perfect setting. Nestled amid landscaped gardens and tranquil waters, the property’s architecture embodied both modern sophistication and cultural depth. For Sidd and Naiya, it became the ideal canvas to blend traditions with global inspiration.

Mehendi

The wedding celebrations opened with a mehendi by the poolside, a vibrant ode to green hues and nautical-inspired motifs. Tropical arrangements, cultural details, and traditional music filled the space with warmth, while friends and family gathered in a festive spirit to set the tone for the days ahead.

Haldi and sangeet

The following day brought two contrasting but equally memorable moments. The Haldi carried the charm of Greece, dressed in vivid blue décor that complemented the joyous yellow attire of the guests. Sidd and Naiya, however, chose striking pink ensembles that stood out against the celebratory palette.

Later that evening, the mood shifted to pure Bollywood glamour. The sangeet was designed as a film-inspired extravaganza with custom posters, a red carpet entrance, and a Filmfare-style photo frame. Dance performances from family and friends turned the night into one of high energy and unforgettable memories.

Wedding and reception

The wedding day unfolded like a pastel dream. With soft peach accents and delicate contemporary touches, the décor created an intimate yet grand atmosphere that beautifully honoured tradition. The reception that followed was all about high glamour, with a black-and-gold theme inspired by the roaring 1920s. Guests arrived in dazzling gowns and sharp tuxedos, dancing the night away under a canopy of Great Gatsby-style opulence.

Personal touches

What truly set Sidd and Naiya’s wedding apart were the thoughtful details woven into every celebration. Their approach involved three separate planning trips to India, where they met artisans, handpicked flowers, and curated a menu close to their hearts. Décor reflected their shared love of travel and design, blending global aesthetics with Indian craftsmanship. The entertainment flowed seamlessly across events, with dhol players, folk musicians, live DJs, and carefully curated playlists creating a lively, immersive atmosphere.

The baraat

Sidd’s baraat was a regal spectacle in itself. Beginning in a vintage Rolls-Royce and concluding on a white horse, his arrival was marked by dhol beats, a live DJ, and exuberant dancing from friends and family. It was the perfect blend of royal nostalgia and celebratory joy.

Sidd and Naiya’s wedding was more than a union; it was a heartfelt expression of love, family, and culture woven together with artistry.
