Inside Prableen Kaur Bhomrah and Rahul Yangaldas’s wedding that celebrated love, heritage, and authenticity
The beloved body positivity advocate tied the knot in a wedding that beautifully captured her beliefs in self-love, individuality, and meaningful tradition.
Known for championing body positivity and redefining beauty standards, Prableen Kaur Bhomrah’s wedding to her long-time partner, Rahul Yangaldas, was every bit as authentic and inspiring as her online presence. A trailblazer in India’s beauty and wellness space, Prableen has long encouraged women to embrace their truest selves, and her wedding celebrations were a moving reflection of those very values.
The couple celebrated their union with a traditional ceremony surrounded by family, friends, and heartfelt symbolism. Each pre-wedding festivity—from the joyous sangeet to the colourful mehendi and turmeric-hued haldi—was steeped in warmth and meaning. Staying true to her Punjabi roots while celebrating her South Indian groom, Prableen chose to honour her heritage through her sartorial choices, donning traditional ensembles for every function.
For the wedding, she embraced the timelessness of a red bridal lehenga—custom-made and exquisitely detailed with gold zari and thread embroidery. The deep crimson shade, representing love and new beginnings, carried an old-world charm, while the sheer, delicately bordered dupatta added a touch of modern grace. Her look balanced tradition and individuality with ease, embodying her signature approach to beauty—confident, honest, and unapologetically herself.
In a poignant gesture that underscored her progressive spirit, Prableen chose to have a female priest to officiate the ceremony. It was a powerful yet graceful statement—one that celebrated equality and representation while proving that tradition can evolve without losing its essence. Every aspect of the celebration, from the décor to the rituals, was carefully curated to reflect inclusivity and love. The setting exuded intimacy and warmth, mirroring the couple’s journey and the values they hold close.
Speaking about the inspiration behind her wedding, Prableen shared, “Our wedding was a reflection of who we are. The idea behind #NotYourTYPICALdulhan came from my own journey as a body-positive and PCOS bride. I wanted other brides to know they can feel beautiful in whatever they choose to wear, without needing to fit into anyone’s idea of perfection.”
Prableen’s wedding was more than a celebration of two souls coming together—it was an affirmation of authenticity, empowerment, and love in its purest form. With every choice she made, from her lehenga to her officiant, she reminded brides everywhere that the most beautiful thing one can be on their wedding day is true to themselves.
