From a vibrant Punjabi mehendi to a serene Maharashtrian ceremony, the couple’s wedding balanced traditions and fun.

Arjun Tendulkar, the son of cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, and Saaniya Chandhok have tied the knot on March 5, 2026. Spread across two distinct events, the celebrations balanced vibrant festivity with quiet elegance, creating a wedding that felt both rooted and personal.

Planned over five months and brought to life by Eternity by Trinity, the celebrations reflected a clear vision: honouring tradition whilst keeping the atmosphere warm, intentional, and intimate. From immersive guest experiences to carefully-designed spaces, every detail was created to ensure the celebrations felt personal and memorable.

A colourful Punjabi mehendi

The celebrations began on March 3, 2026 with the Punjabi mehendi, titled SaanJ, at Gallops at Mahalaxmi Racecourse. Designed as a vibrant sundowner, the event brought together bold colours, rich textures, and a lively carnival-inspired atmosphere.

Guests were invited to explore a specially-created Mehendi Bazaar gifting experience, where personalised tote bags were filled at interactive stalls featuring bangles, bindis, artisanal bath salts, lip balms, and traditional treats like mukhwas and aam papad sourced from Amritsar. The idea was to turn gifting into a fun moment rather than just a takeaway.

A lush floral swing installation became a striking focal point at the venue, while live music and energetic performances kept the mood upbeat throughout the afternoon. The mehendi was a joyful gathering where guests could move through the space, explore experiences, and celebrate alongside the couple.

A traditional wedding ceremony

On the morning of March 5, the celebrations shifted tone with the wedding ceremony at The St Regis in Mumbai. In contrast to the colourful mehendi, the ceremony embraced a softer design language built around the idea of subtle grandeur.

The ceremony took place beneath a sweeping 270-degree centre mandap installation, surrounded by romantic layers of baby’s breath, off-white florals, blush pinks, fresh greens, and muted gold accents. The palette created a calm, and almost dreamlike setting.

Music played a special role during the ceremony. Harshdeep Kaur performed live for Chandhok’s bridal entry, while Shankar Mahadevan recited the Mangalashtak, bringing a powerful and emotional presence to the rituals.

A pangat and an intimate guest list

Following the ceremony, guests were invited to a traditional Maharashtrian sit-down pangat lunch.

The wedding remained an intimate celebration attended by close family and friends, along with several notable names from sports, business, and entertainment spheres. Among those present were Mukesh Ambani, Nita Ambani, Akash Ambani, Shloka Mehta, Shah Rukh Khan, Suhana Khan, Aamir Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan, Irfan Pathan, MS Dhoni, Shreyas Iyer, Ajinkya Rahane, and others.

Despite the high-profile guest list, the celebrations remained warm and personal, reflecting Tendulkar and Chandhok’s intention to keep their wedding rooted in meaningful moments and shared traditions.
