Whether you are planning a breakfast-in-bed for your partner or just want to start the day on a fresh note – there is nothing better than a delicious bowl of muesli, dripping with fruity, nutty goodness.

A heart-healthy, fibre-rich breakfast cereal, the humble Muesli can be tweaked according to your taste buds. We spoke to the wellness cuisine expert Chef Sinchai Srivipa to get the breakfast staple to taste good without compromising on the health aspect.

So, here’s his take on the dish:

Type of serving: Cup

Serves: 6

INGREDIENTS

40 g Rolled Oats

¼ part Red Apple, finely sliced

¼ part Green apple, finely sliced

½ tbsp Black Raisins

½ tbsp Yellow Raisins

1 tbsp Roasted and chopped walnuts

1 tbsp lightly roasted and finely chopped almonds

½ tsp Ayurvedic digestive aid

2 tbsp Honey

1.25-litre Plain yoghurt

For garnish Coconut chips

  1. Place the rolled oats, apples, raisins, walnuts, almonds, ayurvedic digestive aid and honey in a bowl.
  2. Fold through the yoghurt. Place in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours to allow the flavours to develop (best overnight).
  3. To serve, spoon the muesli onto a plate and sprinkle with the coconut chips.
