We all have that one friend who wants to wear sneakers under her lehenga or saree when she gets married.

Well, The Sari School definitely brought this dream alive. The Sari School, a workshop by TaanBaan founder, Ms Rta Kapur Chishti, teaches the various styles of draping a Sari, to promote the wearing of saris and also give it a contemporary touch.

At an event held in the capital this month, The Sari School collaborated with VegNonVeg, India's first multi-brand sneaker store and The pond, a multipurpose Design Studio, to bring together this very unlikely pair for millennials trying to stay in touch with their roots while being comfortable and stylish.

The Pond said it right, 'That day the proverbial kitchen-sink had to wait while the participants of The Sari School x Sneaker workshop absorbed the history of saris, at one point going hands-on combining mod sneakers and retro saris. The results were as ratchet as any street culture.'

Take some inspiration from these and be the edgy bride you've always wanted to be.
