The '80s seem to be a source of endless inspiration for designers this season. From neon colours, cinched waists, and logo mania taking centre stage, the iconic decade has piqued the interest of American designer Michael Kors. This time, he draws from the infamous street art seen on the streets of New York City and blends it with a special logo for the brand. The capsule collection consisting of eight accessory pieces in black and white draws from 'a time when uptown and downtown were really colliding”, says the designer. “Uptown girls partied downtown at the Mudd Club and Club 57. Artists like Fab 5 Freddy and Jean-Michel Basquiat showed their work at PS 1, and yet you’d still be just as likely to find their signatures on the side of a building in the LES or your subway car. Today, that mix of high/low is everything,” he adds, explaining the significance of street style for the millennial generation. Check out the collection below:
