Anita Dongre celebrated the launch of her Grassroot store at The Chanakya. The leading designer, along with His Excellency Nadir Patel, High Commissioner for Canada to India and his lovely wife Jennifer Graham, hosted the evening over champagne and appetizers. Anita’s sustainable luxury brand Grassroot has been embraced by women in Delhi since the time it started. With her very first standalone store for the prêt label she says, “We are very excited to bring our flagship experience to this city through the beautiful space The Chanakya offers us.”

The new Grassroot space, spanning 1500 square feet, emotes the brand’s philosophy–revive, sustain, and empower. The décor is accented by elements in rose gold sustainably sourced wood. Every detail is special in this store, from custom-made racks that give a nod to the humble shuttle (used to hand weave fabric) and dreamy wall panels of hand-woven chanderi and handspun cotton that tell the journey of the brand. A unique feature in the new interiors is the ceiling that it has reels running across with suspended installations of garments, allowing a three-dimensional view of the pieces.

The designer presented a capsule collection for Fall Winter, to mark the launch of the new store. The collection showcased exquisite hand embroidery stretched across featherlight handloom textiles, allowing comfort and easy movement. And to further add to the celebration, music maestros Ritesh Pasanna and Tarit Pal kept the guests thoroughly entertained with their sweet melodies.
