6 classy tuxedo brands for every kind of groom-to-be

Be spoilt or choice.

The bride spends a considerable amount of her time looking for the perfect wedding dress. And you may not have seen it, but the groom’s tuxedo grabs equal eyeballs, and oohs, and awwws. These brands offer a range of tuxedos in different styles to help you pick the best one!

Amit Arora

Amit Arora’s tuxedos can be noted for their attention to detail. While some of their suit jackets have a little (just enough to make you stand out as the groom) bling, others like the ‘Black Poly Wool Embroidered Tuxedo’, have details on the lapels, lending it a minimalistic yet sophisticated feel. The embroidery stands out but doesn’t overwhelm.

Contrast by Parth

Contrast's Soul Black Tuxedo Set has lining on the bottom of the jacket and across the arms, while the rest of it is plain. This material-to-embroidery ratio adds sophistication to the suit—as they say, you don’t need too much to look as good. The Cosmic Tuxedo Set has embroidery on the waist of the trousers as well as behind the jacket, leaving the rest of it plain. The most interesting of them all, the Falling Star Tuxedo Set, literally looks like stars scattered across a galaxy, created with crystal and cutdana (stone and bead work) on Italian suiting.

Sonia G

I’d choose Sonia G solely because of the options in Italian crepe. The fabric is known for its high-tear resistance and smooth texture. You also won’t sweat a lot or feel cold. The shades of blue on offer here are stunning—there’s royal blue that looks like a deep sea-bed and sky blue, which looks like the sky just after it rains. Some pieces feature unique embellishments on the lapels or on the armholes. More formal and fancier tuxes are available in dark colours—the Zed Black set has a ruffled sash connecting the two sides of the jacket.

Sarab Khanijou

Unlike others on this list, Sarab Khanijou’s tuxes have less Indian influence on them. The lapel-jacket colour contrast is subtle but effective, and the tweaks in the shape makes each tux unique. The Off White Jacquard Tuxedo or the Grey Tuxedo would perfectly complement a sunny morning or an overcast sky. The Grey Tuxedo, with a lavender lining would stand out. The stylish wine and black tuxedos in velvet and with gold detailing have their own charm. Sarab Khanijou’s use of the material is the real winner. They perfectly blend the fabric with a colour and detail that suits and bring out the texture of the tuxedo.

I rarely see a green tuxedo, much less one that can work for both day and night parties. The Forest Green Terrycot set comes with embroidery. Its thin-lapels make a lot more of the white shirt visible than the usual tuxes, and adds a touch of elegance to the entire look. At Paarsh you will find everything from heavily embroidered and deep shaded tuxedos, to simple, sophisticated tuxes in black, blue, and pista green (which looks beautiful if you’re going for an unconventional look). If you want to stand out, but not too much, there is dark embroidery (like self print) on dark suits.

Nero by Shaifali & Satya

The first time I saw a Nero tux, I wanted a guy to wear it for me. While I am not so much for embroidery on tuxedos, the Black Suede Embroidered Tux Set changed my mind. In a ‘modern art’ style of hand embroidery, the rectangular trails of design are just perfect. I really can’t skip over the ‘Black Velvet Embroidered’ tux set—it’s got the bling you didn't know you needed! Again crystals on dark fabric. Though this tux is more ‘late night disco’ than a wedding, if you’re fun, this is fun.
