'In my opinion, the perfect blouse shouldn't just be beautiful in colour, structure, or masterful embellishments. It should also have a certain multi-tasking quality to it. As we navigate a tumultuous world, where 'responsible consumerism' is the critical need of the hour, the idea of a garment that can be worn in different ways is very attractive, but it is also necessary. Take for example an intricately embellished blouse that takes on a different personality when paired with an evening sari for cocktails, or a white, cotton lehenga for a beach mehendi. In my own wardrobe, there sit several solid-coloured, Indianwear pieces—a silver-grey Shantanu and Nikhil sari, a minimalist, black lehenga, and an electric-red 431-88 half-sari are just some of them.
