These interruptions and distractions have eroded our ability to concentrate. Fortunately, we’ve got yoga, which is proven to increase concentration and focus. The best part? You don’t need any prior experience to start off with your yoga routine. You can easily do these simple postures at home to relax and focus. Celebrity yoga guru and Himalayan Siddha, Grand Master Akshar shows you how to do these four simple asanas.
Beginner level poses:
Vrikshasana – Tree Pose
Formation of the posture
Begin in Samasthithi.
Stand erect and keep your feet together.
Fold the right leg and place foot on the inner thigh of the left leg.
The right knee is perpendicular to the left leg.
Inhale and bring your palms together in Namaskar mudra in front of your chest.
Keep your spine straight.
Vajrasana
Formation of the posture
Kneel down and sit on your heels.
Keep your toes turned out.
Place your palms on your knees facing upward.
Straighten your back and look forward.
Hold this asana for a while.
Intermediate to advanced level poses
Bal Bakasana
Formation of the posture
Begin in Marjariasana.
Place your elbows down flat.
Your fingers should point forward and they should be spread apart.
Lean forward in such a way that all your body weight shifts onto your triceps.
Find your balance and slowly lift both your feet off the ground. Bring your feet together.
Focus at a point and hold this asana for a while.
Bakasana
Formation of the posture
Begin with Samasthithi.
Lean forward and place your palms flat in front of your feet but slightly away from them.
Your fingers should point forward and they should be spread apart.
Bend your elbows slightly and place your knees just below your armpits.
Lean forward in such a way that all your body weight shifts to your arms.
Find your balance and slowly lift both your feet off the ground. Bring your feet together.
Straighten your arms as much as possible.
Focus at a point and hold this asana for a while.
