This Indian Bride Embraced Her Grey Hair On Her Big Day—And, We're All For It

Actor Dilip Joshi's daughter, Niyati, flaunts her premature greys at her wedding, and the internet is all praises!

Niyati Joshi, daughter of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah fame Dilip Joshi, recently wed in a traditional Gujarati ceremony and was applauded for the unabashed display of her greying mane. Keeping it #RealAF, the bride-to-be chose not to dye her hair for the festivities and redefined the conventional notion of 'bridal beauty'.

As the father of the bride took to Instagram to share a glimpse of the ceremony, several netizens shone a light on how beautifully the bride embraced her 'real' self—making a strong case for self-love and acceptance.

"The bride has the guts to keep her hair grey on her wedding day. Kudos to her courage," wrote one user. Another said, "Love the way you carried yourself. You proved to believe in yourself is the key to being gorgeous." Yet another one put forth, "Thank you for not hiding your grey hair. Beautiful pictures."

Since time immemorial, women have been conditioned to view beauty as a restricted, finite concept—giving way to a skewed perception. Indian brides, in specific, must ideally be *thin*, *fair*, and pretty much perfect, on the so-called most important day of their lives.

Taking a step in the right direction, Niyati Joshi broke the shackles of dated bridal stereotypes (a plus-size bride with grey hair, you go girl!), showing the world how beauty and happiness needn't be synonymous with a widely-known, set-in-stone conception of attractiveness.

We're all praises for the bride with grey hair!
