After getting a taste of Bollywood after assisting director Sanjay Leela Bhansali on his film 'Black' in 2005, Sonam Kapoor made her acting debut in the director's film 'Saawariya' opposite Ranbir Kapoor back in 2007. A few red carpet appearances later, Kapoor became a household name for her impeccable sartorial taste and a rich mix of roles. Today, the actor is busy preparing for her wedding to Delhi-based businessman, Anand Ahuja. All these years spent in the limelight have had a huge impact on Kapoor's beauty, makeup, and fashion looks. 1. Childhood - Cuteness Overload
Sonam was born to actor Anil Kapoor and his wife, former model and designer Sunita. Anil Kapoor is the son of late filmmaker Surinder Kapoor. Sonam has two younger siblings, sister Rhea who is a stylist and film producer and brother Harshvardhan who has just made his foray into acting. The family moved to Juhu, Mumbai when Kapoor was just a year old and she joined Arya Vidya Mandir School in the suburn. She once admitted to being naught in school and an excellent athlete and dancer. 2. Teenage Years - Awkward. Weren't We All?
Kapoor's first job was that of a waitress when she was 15 although the stint didn't last long. She has admitted to struggling with her weight as a teenager in multiple interviews. She enrolled at the United World College of South East Asia where she studied theatre and arts. In 2005, she worked as an assistant on director Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film 'Black' which starred Rani Mukerji and Amitabh Bachchan. Sonam's pictures from her teenage years are as cringe-worthy as any of ours. She actually tried to pull off a bindi with her jeans and tank top!
3. Bollywood - Queen Bee Takes Over
Sonam made her debut with 'Saawariyan' opposite Ranbir Kapoor in 2007 after losing 35 kilos in two years for the role. She sited Waheeda Rehman and Nutan as her acting influences during her debut. A number of photo shoots and red carpet appearances later, Sonam is here to stay and her sartorial choices are cool AF!
4. Wedding - She's Just Like All Of Us
Just like any other bride before her big day, Sonam is seen visiting a dermat's clinic, then chilling at home amid friends and family while her hands and feet get covered in henna patterns.
