Essential Nutrients You Must Include In Your Pre-Bridal Diet

Must haves on your pre-bridal plate, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Zinc, Iron and Potassium are just some of the indispensables in your diet. Here's why..

One must make a conscious effort to adopt a healthy lifestyle. However, this holds greater importance for the bride, especially prior to her special day. Besides aiding skincare ailments and improving bodily functions, nutrients also help regularise sleep patterns and lead to lustrous hair growth, all of which are topmost priorities for the bride. All aspects of health can be taken care of, by consuming the required foods that contain these essential nutrients. Keeping this in mind, we spoke to Dr Geetika Chopra, Health consultant and Nutritionist, Magic Dietitian and Dr Shikha Nehru Sharma, Nutri-Health Systems Pvt. Ltd, regarding the vitamins and minerals that are most definitely a bridal consumption necessity.

VITAMIN A, C & E

While you may question consuming nuts, as they are high in calories, they surely do provide you with some essential vitamins. Nuts promote the production of collagen, which helps make your skin healthy and youthful. Nuts have fibre, antioxidants, healthy fats, calcium, Vitamin A, C, E, zinc and copper, and many other benefits. Almonds, walnuts, cashews, pistachios, flaxseeds and pumpkin seeds fall within this category.

VITAMIN A, D, E & K

Avocados hold these essential nutrients and must be consumed with the purpose of propelling your skincare needs. Avocado, also known as butter fruit, is enriched with healthy monounsaturated fats which will keep your skin soft and supple. Additionally, avocados will also help your body absorb fat-soluble vitamins such as vitamins A, D, E and K.

IRON

It is known to mankind that green leafy vegetables must be a staple in your diet. Specifically spinach, is well known for its high iron content that aids several bodily functions. Iron helps improve the texture of your skin, preventing it from looking pale. Iron, which is essential to the production and circulation of haemoglobin, makes sure that optimum levels of red blood cells are maintained in the body. This, in turn, ensures that there is always enough flow of oxygen in your system and a healthy circulation of blood. As a result, you will experience rosy and glowing skin.

CALCIUM, PROTEIN & POTASSIUM

These nutrients are abundantly present in yogurt. Yoghurt is deemed as a portion of natural anti-aging food. It aids in removing wrinkles, fades sunburn and combats acne. Most importantly, it helps get rid of dark circles and makes your beautiful eyes pop. A cup of yogurt a day definitely helps clear the skin, and must be a regular on your pre-bridal plate.

OMEGA 3

Besides being highly beneficial to your heart and a gamut of other bodily functions, omega 3 fatty acids promote healthy skin too! Foods high in omega-3 fatty acids include various kinds of seafood including salmon, trout, catfish, cod, shrimps, clams, light chunk tuna; as well as walnuts, flaxseed oil, and canola oil.

FIBER

Fiber, found in whole wheat, whole grain, oats, barley, rye, peas, beans, pulses, nuts, seeds, and in fruits and vegetables including berries, pears, melon, oranges, spinach, broccoli, etc, help in weight loss and regularise bowel movements. The primary focus of fiber consumption is to flush out unhealthy toxins from the body. This consequently helps improve the appearance of your skin.

Vitamins and minerals must be added to your diet plan, not solely keeping skincare requirements in mind, but your holistic health. Much needed for your big day, consumption of essential nutrients aids overall health, giving you flawless skin while keeping you high on energy as well!
