Brides Today: What is your favourite foundation when it comes to bridal makeup?

Sonic Sarwate: My favourite foundation for bridal makeup is MAC Studio Fix Fluid because of its oil-controlling formula that offers a matte finish with medium to full coverage. Also, given the fact that bridal makeup has to be long-wearing, I always prefer using Studio Fix Fluid.

BT: How can we pick out a foundation closest to our skin tone?

SS: A mistake most people make while shopping for foundations is that they try it on their hand or neck for 2-3 minutes which I don’t recommend doing. One must use it all over their face and leave it on for sometime before choosing the correct foundation and colour. Also, never opt for a shade that is lighter or darker – go for the shade which is the closest match to your skin tone.

SS: I stick to classic makeup for bridal makeup because I want the bride to love her makeup 20-30 years down the line when she’s looking at her wedding album. When you stick to seasonal trends it gets a bit tricky as you might not like it when it’s out of trend.
