'Everyone should introduce masking into their skincare regimen if they haven’t done so already. For just a few relaxing minutes a day, your skin will go through a noticeable transformation that you can see and feel. You may look silly doing it, but that makes it all the more fun,' says Dr Bharti Magoo, aesthetician and an anti-ageing physician.
So, here are her pick of face masks to try out:
Anti-wrinkle mask
'Regular facial treatments can reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and promote tighter, firmer skin. Use avocados and cocoa powder to stimulate collagen production, and honey to moisturize and soften skin.'
Ingredients:
2 avocados1 tbsp raw honey2 tbsp cocoa powder
Mash the avocados in a bowl and then add the cocoa powder and honey.Gently massage the mask over your face.Let it sit for 20 minutes and then wash off with warm water.
Honey–Avocado mask for dry skin
'This is a hydrating face mask, perfect for cleaning and moisturizing. Avocados are rich in natural oils and potassium, high in protein, and contain Vitamins A, B, D, E, and K. It's best to use ripe, fresh, organic avocados. Make sure to mash them up into a creamy pulp. Unfortunately, avocado turns brown fast, so you'll have to use these masks as soon as you make them. Honey is known for imparting a natural glow to your skin and reducing the effect of dark spots, scars, and pigmentation. The combination of avocado and honey in this will refine the pores, tighten the skin, and smooth over wrinkles and reduce ageing spots.'
Ingredients
1 ripe avocado1 tablespoon honey
Simply mash a ripe avocado and mix it with one tablespoon of honey.Spread a thin layer on your skin, and let it be for 20 minutes. Wash it off with lukewarm water.
Neem Tulsi mask for oily skin
'Neem and Tulsi face pack will give you glowing skin. It works by reducing the excess oil on the skin and killing the bacterial growth on the skin. You can use this mask for a blemish-free, clear skin.'
Ingredients
Fresh Tulsi Leaves – 1 cupFresh Neem Leaves – 1 CupCloves – 2 no.
In a blender, take equal portions of Tulsi and neem leaves, add water and blend in to form a smooth paste.Then add two cloves and mix again in the blender.Evenly apply the mixture on your face, avoiding the eye area. Leave it on for 30 minutes. Then wash it off with cold water
Banana And Milk mask for tanned skin
'Potassium and Vitamins E and C present in banana promote clear and glowing skin. Milk leaves skin brighter. This face mask will moisturize your skin and leaves it looking and feeling softer.'
Ingredients
1/2 banana1 tbsp of milk
Peel a banana and divide it in half.Mash banana into puree consistency with a forkAdd milk and Ingredients together. You can add 2-3 strands of Kesar helping you to get rid of the tanApply the mask to your face and leave it for 20mins. Rinse off the mask with warm water first to open pores and then with cold water to close pores.
