All the way from ‘Oops I’ve over-lined the lips a bit too much’ to the starkly contrasting shades of your neck and face, there are a bunch of unnoticeable (to you) makeup mistakes that you tend to make on a daily basis! While some of them may be apparent and unappealing, you may get away with the others. However, they are mistakes after all.
Celebrity Makeup Artist Ashima Kapoor breaks it down for us.
Ashima Kapoor: People often do not prep the skin before applying makeup. It is always advisable to opt for a good moisturiser and primer to apply to the skin beforehand. The primer acts as a protective layer between the skin and the foundation and will help the foundation last longer.
AK: During the application of mascara on the lashes, if it happens to stain under the eyes as you blink, avoid attempting to remove immediately as it will further smudge on the face. Instead, wait for it to dry up and remove it with a q tip afterwards.
AK: One often messes up by following the wrong blending techniques. The key to natural makeup is to adopt the correct blending techniques. Go ahead and watch YouTube tutorials to know the right way to blend.
AK: Wrong application of concealer is a serious makeup mistake. One must always dab the concealer on the specific area in order to conceal. However, many tend to pull or glide after applying the concealer, which only enhances the problem areas further.
AK: Another one is the wrong usage of bronzer on the face. Some people end up using a bronzer on the entire face. Whereas, a bronzer is to be used on the centre of the forehead, the cheekbones and the jawline to give a sun kissed look.
AK: A harsh lip liner on the lips can make the face look clownish, more often than not. One must use a lip liner and fill the lips within it, using a lipstick blending one into the other. The lip liner mustn’t look separated from the lip colour, but must be blended to look as a part of the fuller lip.
Innovative yet thoughtful elements helped transform this wedding from a celebration into a spectacle.
Bollywood gave us flower-strewn beds and awkward glasses of milk. Modern couples? They just want to take off 12 kilos of wedding-wear and finally exhale.
