How to plan a joint bachelor-bachelorette party

A joint adventure!

Sometimes the stress of planning a wedding can suck the life out of you. And sometimes amid all the stress, you forget the fun aspects of it all. Re. the bachelor and bachelorette parties. Traditionally, these two were kept separate. But why honour your love separately when you can do it together? Gather all the bridesmaids and all the groomsmen!

However, it takes a certain level of planning and finesse to pull off something like that. Here are some things you need to keep in mind if you’re planning a joint bachelor-bachelorette.

Make the guest list as concise as possible

While you might be tempted to invite everyone you know, remember that there are two sets of guest lists involved (yours and your partner's). The more people you invite, the more the expenses and the harder it is to book activities that everyone will enjoy. Twenty to thirty people is the ideal number for a joint bachelor-bachelorette. It’s a large enough group for you to get good deals and for everyone to mingle without anyone feeling left out.

Pick your destination and dates months in advance

If you’re thinking of a joint bachelor-bachelorette party, it’s best to plan months in advance. Find a destination with a major airport so that people coming in from around the world don’t have to struggle too much. And considering all the co-ordination that is required when it comes to dates and the destination, the earlier you start planning the better. You just know there are going to be numerous changes and cancellations.

Schedule activities

Instead of having your typical bachelor-bachelorette party with strippers and phallic-shaped pinatas, why not schedule engaging activities that everyone can participate in? Think adventure sports like sky diving or bungee jumping. To add another layer of fun, you can turn the whole thing into a competition between the bachelors and the bachelorettes. This will help all the people bond better and it will be a trip to remember!

Spend some time as a couple

Amid the madness of wedding planning, it’s tough to get some couple time. So, why not use the joint bachelor-bachelorette party to spend some much-needed quality time? While the rest of the group goes out partying, go for a romantic date night!
