'Jab We Met'
Sonam Kapoor took to Instagram to post this adorable photograph of herself with Anand. She wrote, "Our first picture together.. 4 years ago today I met a vegan who could do complicated yoga positions and speak about retail and business with the same ease. I found him unbelievably cool and sexy. He still makes my heart race and grounds me at the same time. Nothing compares to you @anandahuja, your compassion, kindness, generosity and smarts are incredibly attractive but so is your moodiness and your annoying perfectionism. Thank you for being my partner and standing besides me for these 4 years. They have been my most fulfilling. Happy happy anniversary husband. I’m soo thrilled I get to keep you for the rest of my life. I love you the most and I know you love me the best and the most. That I promise you is the greatest gift I’ve ever received."
The festivities began with the mehendi ceremony, followed by the evening sangeet, the wedding ceremony, and the reception party.
Designed by Anuradha Vakil, the bride-to-be opted for a pink and lilac sharara suit for her mehendi celebrations. Her embroidered dupatta was embellished with beads and gold zardosi work, while the wide-legged pants featured stunning gold threadwork with beads. A pair of jhumkas and subtle makeup completed the look. Anand Ahuja, on the other hand, wore a pink bandhgala kurta with a cream churidar and a lilac pocket square. The perfectly happy and matching couple!
Sonam Kapoor was a vision in ivory and gold for her post-mehendi chooda and sangeet ceremony. An Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla ensemble that took 18 long months and multiple teams of artisans to complete, Sonam successfully met the 'shades of white' theme for the evening.
She accessorised her chikankari work lehenga with goregous gold and polki jewellery, including a chunky bracelet, her mother's choker necklace, jhumkas, a maang tikka, and perfectly braided hair with gajra flowers.
Sonam Kapoor took to Instagram to post another photograph with her beau, Anand Ahuja, in Paris. She wrote, "Throwback to July 2016 our first trip to Paris together, we had to take a cheesy Eiffel Tower picture 😂! I love you forever my valentine. Thank you for being thoughtful and so generous with your emotions , I’ve never been happier my love."
Sonam yet again opted for a designer Anuradha Vakil creation for her big day. A traditional red lehenga with lotus motifs and a heavy border, she accessorised her outfit with a sarpech on her head, a gold choker, a raani haar, a haath phool, and her red wedding chooda.
Rani Pink events were the chosen wedding planners for the star-studded festivities. They beautifully decorated the wedding venue with elements inspired from Jaipur. The perfect pop of colour with the bright red and blue hues, the couple had a traditional Sikh wedding which included four laava pheras around the Guru Granth Sahib, the holy book of the Sikhs.
For a wedding puja, Sonam Kapoor wore a pistachio pastel green sari with a gold border. She accessorised this look with an emerald maang tikka, choker, and necklace set.
For their star-studded reception party at the Leela Hotel, Mumbai, Sonam decided to go for an indo-western, boho-chic vibe, giving a relief from her otherwise heavy Indianwear. She wore an edgy steel grey and silver zig-zag pattern lehenga by designer Anamika Khanna, along with a cape dupatta. She brought the look together with layered diamond necklaces and a stunning red lip.
Later in the evening, Sonam slipped into a comfy white chikankari kaftan. I mean, the bride's gotta bust a move too!
