How did the two of you meet?
"I am from Vapi, Gujarat and Shreyans is from Indore. Since our neighbours are his relatives, he would often visit during the summer, each year. He would stay at his grandmother's house and we would go on long drives, play cards, dine out etc. We would meet one another for only 15 days every year. I'd wait for him to come, since I always had a huge crush on him. It was during my first year of college that I expressed my feelings towards him. Fortunately, he revealed that he liked me as well!"
Was there a formal proposal?
"We have been good friends through our childhood and always liked each other. One fine day, he randomly called me said, "Don’t ask me too many questions, but will you marry me?” I said 'yes' within a second!"
Any anecdotes or memorable moments from the wedding?
"I don't recall experiencing any goosebumps or butterflies in the stomach, through the entire process. Each of the wedding functions was amazing and since it took place during the ongoing pandemic, we only had close friends and family in attendance. Our guests as well as the two of us thoroughly enjoyed the intimate affair."
Any advice for couples who are soon to be married?
"Make sure that you enjoy the entire process of wedding planning. It’s a wonderful experience. Do not unnecessarily take on any stress because these beautiful times will never ever come back."
How are you both spending time during the pandemic?
"We were planning a trip to New Zealand. However, due to the global pandemic we decided to go to Maldives instead. Back at home we play card games and board games, and I enjoy cooking for the both of us."
Evolution laces every Indian bridal season from where some trends emerge to stay, while some fade over time. As we gear up for summer weddings, brides are seeking individuality while still honouring tradition even as they create a narrative that feels uniquely their own.
While gold may always hold its place in a bridal treasury, the rising value of silver and its versatility is increasingly bringing the malleable metal into the spotlight. Brides Today decodes this shift.
