Real Weddings: A Minimal Millennial At-Home Wedding
Weddings in the post-pandemic era have become intimate and more meaningful. And, this couple's minimalist nuptials signify that today celebrations are all about celebrating their romantic union.
'2020 has been a challenging year for the whole world. Since we are still in the midst of a pandemic, where the rules for social gatherings are strict we wanted an intimate wedding. Ever since we decided to get married in November 2020, I had dreamt of getting married and doing the pheras on the terrace of my house since we have the privilege of using it. I shared this idea with Amit and both the set of parents. The families totally loved it and jumped on the opportunity,' says Tamanna.
Tamanna C and Amit Walia kicked off their nuptials with a court marriage a day after Valentine's Day on February 15, 2021. Take a look at their beautiful intimate wedding that was planned with the utmost care by the bride's mother herself!

"My favourite function was the pheras and the wedding itself because it was like a vision manifesting into reality. For me, since I am a Sikh and I have been a part of Sikh weddings that take place in gurudwaras. It was an absolute delight to have the Hindu pheras. This was a new experience and I thoroughly loved the detailing/meaning that goes behind all mantras, rituals and ceremony. The whole set up was just perfect. I will cherish this day for all my life."

"Initially our guestlist encompassed 8 people compromising Amit and his parents, my parents, siblings and me. However, we expanded our guest list to 16 people towards the end. I always dreamt of a minimalistic but meaningful wedding in the presence of my loved ones and I was elated that my dreams translated into reality. Since the guests were limited, we ensured all precautionary measures of sanitisation, temperature check and their travel history were taken into consideration."

Tamanna says, "We were introduced to each other through our family while Amit was visiting Mumbai from London in Oct 2020 to meet his family. We had a very normal start to our relationship where we connected via WhatsApp messages and exchanged a few phone calls. After speaking to each other we decided to take the conversation forward and we finally met each other in person after 3 days of chatting and talking long hours on the phone. Rest was history because after knowing each other for 4 months we have taken the plunge and here we are happily married!"
