Gul Panag Reminisces About Her 'Something Old, New, Borrowed' And Everything Fun Wedding

“The doli experience was amazing. Getting out of the gurudwara and into the sidecar then, leaving. I could feel the wind on my face and luckily, I had my aviators. Then we just rode away to our reception.”

“But its one thing to order a side-car, its another thing to set it up on a bike. So, my husband, his brother and my brother were up all night after the sangeet, trying to fix it onto the bike.”

“I was very sure about not wanting the whole going into a car, crying type of vidaai. My husband was like let’s go on a bike and I was like my mother’s wedding lehenga would get destroyed. So, we got a side-car!”

“So, I called up my mom and told her that I’d be having beer in my wedding lehenga, so only call people who will be okay with seeing me like that. Our guest list was very small with only 150 people. “

“Rishi and I had been dating for a long time. We finally decided to take the plunge after my friend Shruti Seth and Danish Aslam’s marriage. They had a beautiful wedding in Goa and they invited their parents as guests. There was no burden on their parents and everyone had so much fun.”

A thorough eco-fashionista, Gul not only recycled her bridal outfit but curbed her splurge. “JJ Vallaya and Anita Dongre designed stunning anarkalis for me, so these are the only two outfits that I got especially made for my wedding,” she says. 

Actor Gul Panag followed the something old and something borrowed wedding adage to a tee in the cutest way. She says, "I wanted to keep my wedding outfits as simple as possible. So, I wore my mother’s wedding lehenga for the main event and for the sangeet I wore my mother-in-law’s wedding lehenga."
