This Pride Month, let’s celebrate love and all its kinds!

Love is love and the union of two souls deserves a celebration that encapsulates all their hopes and dreams, creating memories that can be cherished for a lifetime. For a nation like ours that is far behind in terms of social acceptance of homosexuality, these Indian couples celebrating their wedding vows in breathtaking ceremonies give us both hope and courage for the future. Here are a few couples and their dream weddings that we can’t help but fall in love with.

Yana and Archita’s wedding in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was an amalgamation of religions, cultures, and heritage. Archita wore a red silk saree and Yana opted for a minimal white gown and tied a piece of her partner’s sari fabric around her waist as a symbol of their union.

Sandeep proposed to Karthik in a hot-air balloon ride over Napa Valley and Karthik decided to reciprocate with another proposal at the beautiful Dolores Park (in San Francisco) with family and friends in tow. Nothing short of a fairytale, the couple consecrated their vows with a traditional pooja infused with Malayali culture.

It all happened organically for Sheila and Jennifer Patel as they met in a café and were married two years later. The two lovers struggled to plan a wedding with an industry focused around heterosexual traditions but managed to create their own traditions, celebrated both Indian and Irish/Scottish culture, and organised a ceremony that generations after them would remember.
