Coming up with unique or fun date ideas can sometimes be cumbersome, and when you have to factor in rainy weather, the task becomes even more difficult. Planning dates during monsoon can be tricky, thanks to sudden downpours, puddles everywhere, and the high chance of getting stuck in traffic.

Enjoy a cosy indoor picnic 

On days when it’s raining so heavily that the mere thought of stepping out of the house seems impossible, stay in and spend some quality together with your boo. Not going out doesn’t mean you have to spend all your time indoors mindlessly scrolling through your phone—a cosy picnic is a good idea if you want to do something different. Prep some snacks, bring out some card games, lay down a blanket (preferably near a window with a nice view), and cuddle up! While monsoon may not be the best time to have more outdoor dates—no one wants to get drenched in the rains, unless that’s your idea of romance—but it is the ideal season to explore the indoor spaces that the city you live in has to offer. From museums and art galleries, to exhibitions, there are plenty of places to explore with your partner. 

Go on a monsoon trek

For the adventurous couples, who love the outdoors and are not deterred by pouring rain or muddy trails, a monsoon trek will qualify as the perfect date. Hills, valleys, and ghats come alive with colour during this time of the year and are an inviting lush green, peppered with seasonal waterfalls, making for a beautiful view!
