Looking For Wedding Invite Inspiration? Here Are Some Refreshing Trends
Six new wedding invitation trends to go for this season.
Wedding invitations have long been one of the most important aspects of our Indian weddings. Creativity and imagination have no boundaries when it comes to designing our wedding invites. With the paradigm shift to simplistic decor and jewel tones ruling the colour palette at weddings, the welcome change has trickled down to invites too. Here are some of the newest trends in invites this season.
Black is the New Red
Dark colours are now having their moment, as people are moving towards more subtle and simplistic invites. Dark colours symbolise elegance and power, and act as an impactful backdrop for brighter and louder tones.
‘Clear’-Cut Love
A unique departure from the traditional paper cards, the use of clear material like acrylic is now making it big. Simple text embossed on sheets of acrylic make for a sleek and modern look.
Keep It Classic
Trends come and go, but classic and minimalist calligraphy is timeless. Gone are the days when gaudy and loud patterns characterised wedding invites. Basic and understated cards with sophisticated colours are the way to go.
Quirky Favours
Distributing knick-knacks like dry fruits, chocolates, and sweets along with wedding invites has been a tradition since forever, but a new take on this is adding unconventional favours, like wedding theme-related goodies, ‘hangover kits’, potpourri, and even symbolic tokens like saplings (Hello, Virushka)!
Go For Gold
To-be-weds are increasingly going for an opulent touch of gold in their invitation cards. Be it metallic foil, gold accents, or even metallic letterpress and motifs- a hint of gold makes invites look elegant, classy and luxe.
Go Paperless
Contribute to saving the planet, and go paperless! Paper invites may be beautiful and memorable, but beyond that, they aren’t of much use. E-invites are slowly and steadily gaining ground for weddings, and would be a bold but laudable and environment-friendly choice.
