“Each event and their backdrop had to be planned painstakingly,” says Dipika. A flash mob by the family, bride and groom’s entry amidst a row of sparklers, live music by Samarth Swarup, a fun game of water polo, and a van called Car-O-Bar that dispensed alcohol—this wedding saw it all.

Who knew that a story that began with a phone call from Mauritius to Mumbai would lead to a whirlwind romance panning two nations? That is how businessman Sahil Punjabi met PR consultant Dipika Israni on a fine day in November 2016. Against the beautiful backdrop of the sea at Ile Des Deux Cocos restaurant in Mauritius, Dipika was gifted a rose and a message every half an hour during lunch which finally led her to the roof where Sahil was waiting to propose.
