THE BRIDE

We didn’t want to spend too much money on the bridal outfits, but I felt the most beautiful person irrespective. My easy-going haldi, sundowner party, and sangeet outfits were by designer Meghna Shah. Since we had a day wedding, I chose a pink, green, and blue embroidered white lehenga with two dupattas by Chamee and Palak.

Staying Within Budget

Our venue, the Rivergate Resort in Karjat, gave us the flexibility to choose our caterers and décor. We didn’t have fresh flowers, used fairy lights in the evening, were sensible about the quantity of food, and didn’t splurge on bridal outfits! There was no wedding planner—Tapan and I did everything.

All in The Details

I wanted a filmy wedding, on the lines of Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. We had only 200 guests and four functions: the haldi, sundowner, sangeet, and wedding. Though our budget was limited, we added several quirky elements that really personalised things, from funky décor photo booths to a flashmob during the haldi!

Love at Work

I got a job at Tapan’s clinic in Mumbai in 2014. Discussions on sports medicine soon veered towards personal conversations and before we knew it, we were in love. Dating for three years and my Master’s in Australia was followed by a romantic proposal in Alibaug towards the end of 2019. And on January 26th, 2020 we were married!
