My advice

Don’t let the stress of it all get between you and your partner. When things get hectic, do something simple like watch a movie or have dinner together, and don’t talk about anything wedding-related. This will remind you of why you set out on this journey in the first place.

Our wedding ceremony was short, sweet, and by the sea.

Neither of us is very religious, and nor are our families. We read our vows, exchanged rings, signed legal documents, and raised a champagne toast against the backdrop of the sun setting over the Arabian Sea at Goa’s Taj Fort Aguada.

I was overwhelmed by the love and care put into the proposal.

Josh and I vacationed in Bali in March, 2017. On our second day, Josh took me to see a beautiful waterfall. We were swimming when he suddenly pulled out this gorgeous ring and asked me to marry hi —I was so taken aback that I didn’t answer! He had to ask me a second time. And I replied, “Of course, I will marry my best friend.” The rest of the day had been carefully planned out by Josh—we spent the entire afternoon at a spa and enjoyed a private sunset dinner in the forests of Ubud. I will never ever forget it.
