Jewellery trends poised to be the most popular in 2025
From timeless polki and contemporary layered designs, to temple jewellery, and everyday wear gold pieces, check out these standout jewel trends for this year.
Jewellery pieces are far more than just accompanying accessories. They stand out in an ensemble, make a statement for themselves and serve as a medium of self-expression. Moreover, fashion trends are forever cyclical in nature, and jewellery, too, faces similar periods of popularity. From layered and sustainable designs to bold statement pieces, women’s treasure chests are ready to welcome new styles in 2025. The industry’s seasoned jewellers bring you the standout trends that would pair best with both Indian attire and Western outfits for occasions even beyond wedding festivities.
Traditionally modern
Pieces of jewellery are often associated with memories, especially for a bride. While the future of bridal bijoux may be in the hands of innovation, one can’t ignore how traditional craftsmanship continues to honour India’s heritage.
Intricate polki work, for instance, boasts unparalleled royal Rajput history dating back to the 17th century. It’s a time-honoured artform that spread from Jaipur and Bikaner to the Mughal courts in Delhi. “Polki jewellery are trousseau must-haves,” says Yash Agarwal, creative director at Birdhichand Ghanshyamdas Jewellers. “Traditional yet classic designs like polki never go out of style and can be paired effortlessly with several outfits even after the wedding.”
For Archana Aggarwal, founder and creative director at Archana Aggarwal Timeless Jewellery, bridal jewellery has transitioned towards blending tradition with modernity through regal, intricate designs inspired by nature. These include floral motifs and organic contours that incorporate coloured gemstones along with gold.
Similarly, Dhawal Jain, director of Nanagram Fine Jewels, is of the opinion that brides today seek more contemporary-chic designs, including layers, for occasions beyond their weddings. This shift is evident in the way fine jewellery brands today have embraced pieces that can be worn even after the festivities end.
Gilded glory
For many, a gold investment is just as valuable an asset as a dream home—Queenie Singh, founder of Jewels By Queenie, validates this fact. She believes that brides must blend beauty with long-term value, and one such artful investment is temple jewellery, used to adorn the idols of gods and goddesses in South Indian temples. “Opt for a higher karat gold, such as 18kt or 22kt, for purity, but balance this with durability if you plan to wear the jewellery often,” Singh adds. “Always make your purchase from reputable jewelers who provide certification to ensure authenticity.”
As timeless and versatile as gold is, to use it to its full value is to make it part of more than just a safebox, emphasises Lesha Shah, founder of Irasva Fine Jewellery. Further stressing on wearability, she shares, “Make gold an everyday functional part of your life by investing in the kind you can wear even after your big day. One such kind of jewellery you could consider is temple jewellery.”
Hailing heirlooms
Most little girls have experienced this moment: watching their mother or grandmother get decked up in elegant jewellery, studded with emeralds, rubies and other precious gems, that they know has been passed down generations and will one day be adorned by them. Heirloom jewellery undoubtedly holds a special place in every woman’s heart, and brides are no exception.
“One should prioritise sentimental value and set a realistic budget beforehand,” says Trisha Datwani Anand, creative director at Anmol Jewellers. “For modern brides, jewellery should be an extension of their unique style.”
For Yash Kataria, co-founder of Kumari Fine Jewellery, customisation is key. “Incorporating personal elements like initials, meaningful motifs and inspirations from family heirlooms can make your jewellery truly one of a kind.”
