In a world full of choices, Varun Dhawan, who has been married for over four years, says that love, patience, and commitment are the real keys to a lasting marriage.

Actor Varun Dhawan is a name synonymous with charm, energy, and versatility in Bollywood. From his debut in Student Of The Year to crowd-pleasers like Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, Badrinath Ki Dulhania, and his critically-acclaimed turn in Badlapur, Dhawan has captured hearts both on-screen and off. But beyond his reel-life romances and dance numbers, it is his personal life with his family—wife Natasha Dalal, and now a daughter—which he prefers to keep private, away from the limelight.

In January 2021, Dhawan tied the knot with longtime girlfriend Natasha Dalal, a fashion designer. Their intimate Alibaug wedding was attended by close friends and family, away from the media frenzy. Since the very beginning, Dhawan and Dalal have kept their relationship private, letting their bond speak louder than headlines—and they intend to continue to do so.

At the recent India Today Conclave in Mumbai, Dhawan opened up about the realities of married life in a fast-moving world full of options. At a session titled “It Takes Two to Tango: Love is in the Air Again”, he shared his personal take on love, forgiveness, and the effort it takes to keep a marriage strong.

“I feel, especially when you're married, you know that it is not about second chances. It is about a lot of chances. You have to give your spouse a lot of chances. And your spouse has to give you a lot of chances to make up because love always stays and you have to fight for that love. I genuinely believe you have to fight for that love,” he said.

Dhawan emphasised that sustaining a marriage requires balance and understanding from both partners. "Mistakes—lot of people make, obviously... but you have to find that balance. Somewhere your spouse or your partner has to meet you midway. But the idea is that when you are in it, you are in it; because there are so many options today in life. So many options besides marriage. Everyone can find another option. But to be married and to be with that one person for the rest of your life requires a special commitment. And that commitment has to be about that if they do make a mistake, you have to be okay with it as well. That's why I am in it, no matter what. It's unbreakable," he stated.

Varun’s words are a refreshing reminder that true love goes beyond chemistry or convenience. In a world full of choices and distractions, staying committed, forgiving, and nurturing a partnership is a rare feat. For Dhawan and Dalal, it’s clear that their marriage is built on more than love—it’s built on patience, understanding, and an unwavering commitment to grow together, both on and off the screen.

After being married for over three years, Dhawan and Dalal welcomed a baby girl, whom they have named Lara, on June 3, 2024. On the work front, the actor is gearing up for the release of his film, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, co-starring Janhvi Kapoor, Sanya Malhotra, and Rohit Saraf, among others. It releases in theatres across India on October 2, 2025.
